  • Both visual and audible assist with flexible settings.
I have had every Garage Door gadget to help with my ever adventurous tortoises. Garage Door reminder has filled the void I have found with other devices. Ease of use, reliability, aesthetic value, longevity, flexibility, leaves nothing wanting. Job well done garage door gadget.

  • Easy to Install and Reliable
This replaced an old Chamberlain door monitor that had failed years ago. We have a detached garage, and were occasionally forgetting to close the garage door at night. I was reluctant to get something new, concerned that the distance between the house and garage and line-of-sight through a brick fireplace would compromise signal reliability. I didn’t want the complexity of one that connected to home WiFi. Glad I tried this unit; it was super simple to install and activate, and is very reliable - no problems. We bought the version with two receivers, and the second one in an upstairs bedroom connects to the other receiver and/or transmitter, so we have peace of mind that our garage door is closed before we go to bed for the night. ... show more

  • Awesome product and even better customer service
I was looking for something super simple to let me know that the garage door is open. This was it. I didn't need any Wi-Fi solution. Just to alert me that's it. After a day, one of the 2 light stick receiver started to just constantly blink only on the right side for no reason whatsoever. I followed the instruction in resetting to no avail. I even removed the battery off of the transmitter, let the receiver sat without being plugged in for bit, and put back in their source of power back with the same result. What got me is the AWWWEESSOMME customer service. I spoke with Rob who shipped a new one without any hesitation. He just had me text my address to him and minutes later he sent me a picture of the package that he was shipping to me with the packing slip slapped on there. I was like "Wow, that's new!!". That's what I call customer service. Yes, it's as free. Since I was at work when I called him, he gave an instruction to test it on another USB Wall Charger Plug which I know I have several laying around. So when I got home, I plugged it in and sure enough it works. I texted Robert to mention to him the outcome and was happy that it worked and to keep the one that he shipped earlier as an extra. That is an epitome of customer service....... Thanks again Robert. Keep inventing simple solutions like this.... ... show more

  • HARD TO CHANGE BATTERIES
This sensor worked great until it came time to change the battery. The battery is held in by a plastic door and one of those tiny screws. It took me some time to find a screwdriver that would open the battery door. Up till now, it's been great. I do wish you could set it to beep the moment the door opened instead of waiting 45 seconds for the first beeps. ... show more

  • Simple to install, works well, incredible customer service
I have attempted to install three different WiFi garage monitoring systems with no success. Absolutely no success, despite my mesh WiFi transmitter being less than nine feet away through one wall. The blutooth Garage Door minder worked two minutes after I first plugged it in. I did call the company with a general question and after two rings, the inventor, owner and chief bottle washer answered. It's so nice not talking to an agent in a overseas call center who's trying to work from a script. ... show more

  • Delay for sound alarm is too short, and red light is not very bright
The first impression was very positive: the unit arrived well packaged, with clear instructions, and installation was very easy. The indoor indicators, those sticks which are plugged in into USB chargers, remember the pairing information once paired, so they can be unplugged, moved, and plugged in again. So far, they would start blinking properly every time when the garage door is opened, so everything works. Installation of the battery-powered unit on the garage door is also very easy, with a double-sticky tape and a mounting pad. The unit rests in a carrier and slides out of the pad which holds it in place easily, which is handy for battery replacement, or if one wants to do something in the garage and keep the door open. In this case, all one needs to do, is to remove the indicator from the holder and put it in a shelf face up, battery compartment down. Then, it will not be triggered. It has a sound alarm (which can be turned on or off) and a visual alarm (red blinking light). Unfortunately, neither of them is stellar. The red LEDs are inside of the plastic stick, they illuminate the stick nicely, but the blinking is not very bright and will not attract attention, unless it is dark. I wish the unit has a bright exposed LED, akin to bicycle tail light, which illuminates walls and ceiling and makes itself seen. Then, there is an audible alert. It is a high pitch sound which can be set to two levels of volume (which presumably is triggered immediately), and also there is an option of 45 seconds delay. In the delay mode, it does not start screaming for (as stated) 45 seconds, and then it beeps several times, a pause, then beeping repeats, and so it goes. The problem is that 45 sec delay is too short. If you just drove into the garage and need to unload groceries from your trunk, walk to the mailbox to get mail, check for packages on your porch, or just move slowly, the odds are that the alarm will start yelling way before you close the garage. If you are headed to work and need to put your bag into the trunk, set up your audio book or music, check mirrors, make yourself comfortable before driving out, you will also risk waking up your family members by triggering the alarm prematurely. My wife hated this audible alarm so much that it made me turn it off, and now the light is also not so visible. Maybe there are areas where thieves are standing in front of your garage to snatch something out of it the moment you walk into your house. Maybe there are area where you need to close your garage door asap and run inside. We live in a fairly safe area, and if the garage is open for a few minutes, not a big deal. We want to not forget about it and not leave it open for hours or overnight. We would be happy with a sound alert, but we need a delay of at least 3 mins. Three minutes should be sufficient, and five minutes would prevent any and all false alarms. But 45 seconds is just too short, and brightness of the visual alert is not high enough to replace the audio alarm. Hence, three stars overall and for value for money. And, by the way, an audible alarm with gradually increasing loudness would be a blessing. The high pitch sound, a fixed frequency beep which the unit makes, is always very unexpected and annoying. I guess it is good for an alarm, but the purpose of this gadget is to provide a warming, not to make you jump in place from surprise when you hear it. There are definitely things to improve with this unit, but regretfully, I was not able to find any alternatives with a more thought-through design. ... show more

  • Minimize the risk - buy a Garage door Minder
The “Garage Door Minder® 2-Room Combo Pack” is an excellent five-star product. Knowing that I am ethnically inclined to be verbose, I shall endeavor to be brief. Three nights ago, I woke up at 1 AM, walked to the front windows to look at the street, and noticed a light coming from my garage. I went downstairs and found an open garage door. I am thinking that it must have been opened remotely by some gobshite. Then I noticed that my phone had messages from my neighbors. They had noticed the open garage door and an unknown truck with two guys parked across the street from my house. Unable to close the door, they called 911. Yesterday, I went online to search for garage door monitors. I found that customer reviews favored the Garage Door Minder … which is reasonably priced. I bought the combo pack and installed the transmitter and one receiver within five minutes (not bad for an 85-year-old geezer with arthritis). The other receiver would not beep until I switched the receiver base with the other receiver. Now, both receivers are working fine. Dr. Theodore Woodward from the University of Maryland once said, "When you hear hoofbeats behind you, don't expect to see a zebra." So, I ask you … which is more likely - random remote control opening the door or the door being accidentally opened by me? Minimize the risk … buy a Garage Door Minder! ... show more
