  • Unchanged from 1973...
I have a fifty-some-year-old woodern garage door that I just worked to rejuvenate with paint, Bondo in areas with slight rot and reset back hinge portions. Then I decided to redo the bottom seal. I went to HD and found thin foamy garbage seals--far inferior to the original rubber seal that was still on the door. But on Amazon I found this seal and it is PRECISELY the same seal as the one on the door from 1973. It's superb. The best seal out there, I'm sure. I could have left the 1973 seal on, but I wanted a new one because the old one had been painted so many times. I suspect this is a hundred-year seal, honestly. ... show more

  • The sealer is thick and heavy duty and works great on my garage door
The big box stores only carried the garage door sealer that fed into a metal track. They did not have one to nail into the bottom of the door. I found this item on Amazon and its description fit perfectly with what I needed (thank you for the clear description); it was just as described and matched my need perfectly. The hardest part of the replacement was pulling the nails that had secured the 30+ year sealer that finally died. If I could make one suggestion, I'd urge the supplier to provide 25-30 galvanized roofing nails. The sealer comes with none, which was not a big deal as I spent about five bucks buying a box of 3/4 inch roofing nails, but I had a box of 250 nails and have little use for the rest. The supplier might charge a buck more and include 50 nails (or provide that option). Whatever. The sealer is thick and heavy duty and works great on my garage door. Good product. ... show more

  • thick, good quality bottom gasket for roll-up wood garage doors.
a thick, good quality bottom door gasket for roll-up wood garage doors. We didn't use the nails they supplied, we used roofing 1" nails.

  • Good quality, more nails included than what other reviewers received!
Could not find any 18 foot strips locally, only 16 foot. This one worked out great! This is the hard rubber type, not the light weight foam And it came with about 30 nails, not 12. The previous strip had a nail about every 4 to 5 inches and that's how I did this one. That spacing ensures that the rubber won't sag between nails. I also used a few roofing nails for insurance, but the included nails probably would have been enough. ... show more

  • Great product and great service!
This material is superior quality. All of the big home improvement stores in my area only offer the "foam rubber" type of seals. After spending months restoring my old wooden garage doors, the last thing I wanted to do was finish them off with that cheap foam seal that cannot withstand the harsh winter weather in my area. My garage doors are over 45 years old, and this material matches the quality of the seal that was originally installed on them all those years ago. Nice, heavy duty rubber seal, that also comes with large washer-headed nail fasteners that are easy to use and match the quality of the rubber seal. Great product and fantastic customer service...if you are thinking of buying this item, don't hesitate...you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Horrible.. I don’t get it.
I don’t get it .. extremely difficult to install and nearly impossible to remove once installed. There were plenty of ring shank nails included but they are extremely cheap quality and bend very easily while hammering in and do not make a proper seal between the door bottom and new rubber door seal. There are huge gaps between each nail point of contact and also where door meets concrete floor. This is a horrible terrible waste of time and money, I am returning this product immediately and putting my old seal back on .. my old one was attached with staples every 1/4” and though 25 years old and faded it works 100% better than this one .. no thank you. ... show more

  • Solid and perfect. Could not recommend this any more highly for ...
I bought this from 365 garage door parts so my review is for the product I received from them. This is a solid rubber strip which is exactly what I was looking for. Not foam in any way. Solid and perfect. Could not recommend this any more highly for a wooden garage door. You only get like 6 good nails with this but you can use roofing nails or aluminum siding nails to attach to a wooden door. ... show more

  • As advertised, works well but need to buy more ...
As advertised, works well but need to buy more nails (with large metal square to avoid going through the rubber) to attach as the number they supply are not nearly enough..or weren't for the my 22' garage door.
