Could not find any 18 foot strips locally, only 16 foot. This one worked out great! This is the hard rubber type, not the light weight foam And it came with about 30 nails, not 12. The previous strip had a nail about every 4 to 5 inches and that's how I did this one. That spacing ensures that the rubber won't sag between nails. I also used a few roofing nails for insurance, but the included nails probably would have been enough. ... show more

installed last weekend; appears to be very good quality and should last a long time. Like another poster mentioned, knocked off one start due to no directions on which side faces this way or that way...added a bit of time making sure I was installing properly by searching competitors' websites

I bought this from 365 garage door parts so my review is for the product I received from them. This is a solid rubber strip which is exactly what I was looking for. Not foam in any way. Solid and perfect. Could not recommend this any more highly for a wooden garage door. You only get like 6 good nails with this but you can use roofing nails or aluminum siding nails to attach to a wooden door. ... show more

This material is superior quality. All of the big home improvement stores in my area only offer the "foam rubber" type of seals. After spending months restoring my old wooden garage doors, the last thing I wanted to do was finish them off with that cheap foam seal that cannot withstand the harsh winter weather in my area. My garage doors are over 45 years old, and this material matches the quality of the seal that was originally installed on them all those years ago. Nice, heavy duty rubber seal, that also comes with large washer-headed nail fasteners that are easy to use and match the quality of the rubber seal. They don't send enough nails, if you don't mind it sagging in between the nails go for it. I even put extra screws with washers and still doesn't seal. You'll need a perfect garage floor and a box of deck screws with washers would be best, the nails they send are NOT galvanized and start to leave rust spots after the 1st time wet, so you know they with not last long, just dont bother using them. Deck screws with washers if you want to do it better. The seal is some kind of rubber, no instructions which way the larger lip on the rubber is to face, NO INSTRUCTIONS PERIOD. You get a bag with rubber strip and 5-6 bare metal nails is what your paying for. Good Luck. I will never use this vendor again!!!!! ... show more
