Note the dimensions in the listing. The flange edging/overhang is about 1/3” all around. Many other brands have a wider flange, so be careful when cutting out the hole to not stray too far from the minimum cutout size. Also, the door hinge is an inch or so in from the edge, which creates an inswing scenario that could be problematic if you have a stud passing through the cutout opening. I cutout along the edge of a stud, so I didn’t have any issues. Otherwise the access panel seems ok. A bit flimsy. ... show more

Access panel will do its basic job. The material of the panel is plastic but I didn’t expect it to be glossy which makes this panel a scratch magnet. If you are looking for a matte/ more scratch resistant look then I will not work
