I will say I really liked the 8BitDo Pro 3 at first, but I sort of realized as time went on that the Bluetooth and 2.4GHZ were bothering me in Shmup Games, Fighting Games,Racing Games and Action Games. Something I did further research on is how important Polling Rate and Latency are when it comes to these aspects. I then decided that these were my new baselines for a premium controller. 1. Low Latency on Bluetooth & 2.4GHZ which is essentially anything below 10MS, preferably 2MS-5MS and below as possible for Stick & Button Latency. 2. SteamInput support for the Extra Buttons, not just on Bluetooth but on 2.4GHZ standard. As Pro 3 could do it on Bluetooth but not on 2.4GHZ which was a major blow to me when I realized 2.4GHZ is better on Latency. 3. A High Polling Rate somewhere near 8k to 10k, which 8BitDo Pro 3 had 250HZ. 4. A premium feel on the grip of the controller that has rubber and is not plastic and has some sense of colorful style. Which is why I like 8BitDo. Here comes the Gamesir G7 Pro 8K that satisfies every metric with only very minimal issues, the grip is amazingly great, I like the Turquoise Transparent Color and I really feel like this is an Aesthetic missing in a majority of controllers that is timeless. The only thing I did not know before hand is in order to see the Extended Buttons on 2.4GHZ you need to hold the Home Button + A, which you will then see the controller switch to Gamesir G7 Pro 8k on Steam, the home button will have a Yellow Color surrounding it for a moment to let you know it is in that mode, and Steam will then be able to see it and utilize the extra buttons. This should be standard on all controllers as I feel like when I do it the regular way on other controllers and decide to put the screenshot button on the extended controllers, for some reason Microsoft Gameshare hijack my extended controllers when I take screenshots and does it on it's own alongside Steam. But with this it does not. I did a few small tests. 1. DoDonPachi Ressurrection ran extremely well on 2.4GHZ on Steam very minimal issues with moving around and dodging bullets 2. Espagaluda II passed with flying colors on Bluetooth Mode on Switch 3. Mario Kart 8 passed amazingly well on Bluetooth Mode with very extremely minimal latency with Drifting, as Drifting on small curves is extremely reliant on latency if you can turn, keep the gas pedal moving. I was able to do this better than my Switch Pro controller and turn on an instant and build enough to boost myself back into the lead online. 4. Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves. I was able to pull off moves basically instantly on 2.4GHZ and Bluetooth remains close in latency. I can only imagine what a Pro Player with this controller could do in tournaments. 5. Emulator support I can say it does extremely well even on games that are usually precision heavy and need low latency heavy like Arcade like games are really well done and perform smoothly. There is minimal cons in this review. -The L5 & R5, including the control sticks while great, I do think could be made of better material, it feels a little bit too plastic at times sort of like if i dropped this controller it might snap off. I can only think this was to keep the pricing low to keep everything packed in features wise. But I would like to see this improved. It's not a deal breaker really, it's worth the money obviously. But I would like to see an improvement on this if it's possible. -I would like to see more improvement if that is even possible on Bluetooth as it's very good and near the 2.4GHZ it's playable for Action Games and high end it's better than 99% of Controllers out there, but I hope there can be new ways to get it to near 2MS-5MS to evolve the standard even further. Maybe Bluetooth 6.0 standard will push us to it, or custom Bluetooth configurations can get us there. But I do hope there is some way to improve Latency and Responsiveness to push the bar higher. There is a few suggestions I would have for the next generation of controllers -Although I like the controller and Cyan transparent is my favorite color scheme and a nod to the 00's era of controllers, I do feel like there could have been more colors like Red, or Purple, Turquoise that is the same type. -This color scheme and features should not be on Special Editions but on the next generation of controllers. -Keeping this controller the same but having a Valve approved version for Steam Controller would be great. -Having the Cyan thumbsticks as an extra instead of just black thumbstick replacements in a bag. I will end off by saying that this is an excellent controller, and I am glad I decided to buy this over the Steam Controller as Steam Controller lacks the Polling Rate which is I think the same as the Pro 3 at 250HZ and is not transparent about the Bluetooth Latency. To a lot of people this will not matter as much because Pro 3, or Steam Controller will be great for common setups, but for a lot of people who like Action, Timing, Latency heavy style games like Racing, Shmups, Fighting Games, Action games like DMC or Bayonetta etc. The Pro 3 8BitDo is downgraded to being my Retro Controller for Video Games like SNES,N64, Gamecube and Gamesir G7 Pro 8K is now my daily controller for the foreseeable future unless things and I will give an update if anything does. I will end off by saying it's in a league of it's own, where most controllers should be at the baseline for the next generation and a new benchmark to reach for me if i wish to buy a new controller in a year or two from now.

Let me save you a lot of trouble. Download the gamesir connect software to map all the buttons. They offer a lot of controllers and have legacy software for them so don’t accidentally download that one like I did. Secondly, put the dongle that comes with the controller in the back of your pc hooked directly into your motherboard for the low latency that’s advertised. Thirdly, you’ll want to stop usb sleep suspension in your power settings to stop it from disconnecting and reconnecting like mine was. Now that all the quirks are worked out let’s take a look at the controller. All the buttons work and feel very nice. While they are tactile, there is a high quality rubber material between the bottom of the button and the switch, the button tightness combined with that makes it feel premium while still being extremely responsive. I’ve tested it with their provided latency program and it’s the real deal. I’m coming from the standard Xbox series controller and I could personally feel the difference right away. Combos are more consistent and feel easier and more natural to pull off in Street fighter 6. The frame perfect dodges are much easier now in DBZ sparking zero, it’s very nice. They also provide customizable thumbsticks that are taller or shorter based on what you prefer. With multiple design types. I wanted the teal and thankfully got them. It feels nice as well, being heavier than the Xbox controller which I do like, but it is a slightly slightly smaller than the Xbox controller which maybe I would prefer it be slightly larger. Last but not least, I’ve never in my life had these new next gen thumb sticks and stick drift is the whole rabbit hole that brought me to this controller. They do have less resistance than the Xbox controller, which honestly I don’t think I like but they do glide very smooth in a way that’s similar to the switch pro 2 controller. It’ll take some adjusting but I think I’ll come around. If you’re serious about gaming, highly recommend.

The GameSir G7 Pro 8K is one of the best controllers I've used. It feels premium in the hands, the buttons are responsive, and the TMR sticks are incredibly smooth and accurate. The 8K polling rate makes the controller feel extremely responsive, especially in fast-paced FPS games, and the Hall Effect triggers are a great addition for durability and precision. I also love the extra programmable buttons and how easy it is to customize everything with the software. The controller is comfortable enough for long gaming sessions, and the overall build quality is outstanding for the price. I’ve been using the GameSir G7 Pro 8K Aimlabs Edition on PC, and I’ve been really happy with it overall. Compared to the previous G7 Pro, this version feels more refined and improved in several areas. The controls feel more responsive, the sticks feel smoother, and overall gameplay feels more consistent. The GameSir Mag-Res™ Gen-2 TMR sticks feel accurate and responsive, while the Hall Effect analog triggers with micro switch trigger stops work great for both racing and competitive games. The optical micro switch ABXY buttons and mechanical micro switch D-pad also give the controller a more tactile, responsive feel. It’s also surprisingly affordable for everything included. You get four remappable macro buttons, a built-in 6-axis gyro, adjustable turbo settings, a charging station, swappable magnetic faceplates, dual rumble motors, wired and 2.4G wireless support, plus a 3.5mm audio jack that works in both modes. For the price, it feels packed with features. The controller itself is comfortable to hold during long gaming sessions. The shape feels natural in hand, and the textured grip helps keep it comfortable without feeling rough. I also really like the design of this version. The cyan blended with black gives it a clean, modern look without relying on flashy graphics or busy patterns. The minimalistic appearance makes it stand out while still looking sleek. The GameSir Connect app is another strong point. It’s easy to use and gives a lot of useful customization options, including button remapping, trigger tuning, stick sensitivity adjustments, gyro settings, macros, and profile management. I went into this one with some skepticism, I’ve owned several “pro” controllers and they all have their issues. I’ve had 3 Xbox Elite 2 controllers (all 3 had stick drift and stuck bumpers), I had the Elite 1 (stick drift), I’ve had the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra that wasn’t so ultra and I have a Razer Wolverine v3 Pro (no major issues other than random disconnects) that is (now was) my daily driver. I had never really heard about Gamesir before, I was just looking up controllers on YouTube one day and ran across a bunch of reviews for the G7 Pro. Looked like a pretty solid controller for a really good price compared to all of the other controllers I’ve owned. I wasn’t really in need of a new controller yet and was holding out for a replacement and then Gamesir Dropped the 8k version of the G7 and all the YouTubers said it was vastly improved over the G7. You really have to take YouTube reviews with a grain of salt because who knows if they were compensated for a positive review (looking at you Turtle Beach). For $89 I figured it was worth a gamble so I ordered one and was I pleasantly surprised. You definitely get a lot in the box for your money. You get 2 other D-pads to swap out, there was another 6 sticks in different heights and shapes not including the ones that were already on the controller. You get the charging dock which has a little trap door for the included usb wireless dongle. Lastly you get a pretty long braided usb cable that seems like pretty solid quality. When you feel the controller the grip is the first thing I really noticed. Nice texture on the grips, feels grippy but not overly grippy. The controller felt slightly smaller in the hand than my Razer but not too small. The TMR sticks felt on par with the standard Xbox One controller sticks tension wise (Razer had more tension) and were very smooth. The triggers felt a little light compared to the Xbox and Razer triggers and have a little different contour I had to get used to but feel good. The Gamesir software was easy to find in the windows store, didn’t have to download it from a website and was a much easier software to use than Razers. I had the controller up and running with a new firmware update for the controller and the dongle in less than 10 minutes. I’ve been using this controller for about a month now and have zero regrets picking it up. I do have a few cons on the controller but overall is nowhere near being a dealbreaker. Con#1: placement of the ‘back button’ (left of where the Xbox button would be) is a little awkward compared to the Razer and Xbox controllers Con#2: the size of the stick domes is a little small compared to the Razer and Xbox controllers Con#3: customization, this thing has really really cool magnetic faceplates you can swap out except…. The rest of the controller is a really nice blue color and it’s hard to find stuff that matches with it. Would be very cool if this came in a more neutral color that would match up with other faceplates, etc. Con#4: Battery life is a little meh. My main gaming days are Saturdays and I will put in a solid 8 hours at my pc. I do have to take a little bit of a charging break to get it back up. I would imagine if I had it set to 8k polling instead of 1k polling the battery life would be even worse. You can always plug the controller in to charge while you play too. If you are on PC and looking for a new controller and don’t mind the color of this one you really can’t go wrong with it. There is a lot of value to be had in this box and I have had zero issues in the last month with it. Would definitely recommend.

Honestly, this controller is incredible across the board. The price-to-performance ratio is insane—it completely embarrasses the Xbox Elite Series 2 by easily outperforming it and offering far better build quality at a fraction of the cost. The joysticks are flawless with 0.0% stick drift and excellent precision. I’m incredibly happy with this purchase. The only minor downside—if you can even call it that—is the internal battery, meaning you can't swap in externals, but it’s definitely not a dealbreaker. The included accessories are top-notch, and the overall feel is premium. Since I run games at 240Hz with Frame Gen, the ultra-high polling rate is mostly a bonus for me, but the hardware itself is next-level. Looking back, I feel like I completely wasted my money on the Elite 2. Frankly, standard first-party controllers from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo feel like overpriced, anti-consumer garbage in comparison. This controller exposes how much those trillion-dollar companies are ripping us off with cheap plastic and planned obsolescence. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

I finally found the pro controller for me. A controller that has at least 4 extra buttons, feels good in my hands and has a replaceable d-pad. For me the d-pad is something I needed more pro controllers to address. I play fighting games and while the Razer and Flydigi controllers were good to great, they always fell short on a good d-pad for fighting games. With the d-pad and the 8000hz pooling rate, it felt like fighting games were more responsive in combos and special moves than other controllers I had. Just quickly I'll mention I do love having two buttons in the back and two on top. I have the back buttons be A and B and the top be ax and Y. For action/adventure games and first person shooters, this works out for the best. The extra analog sticks are nice as well but the longer one I use for the right stick, only comes with a smooth round top. I would like something with a texture for better grip but do far, not a big problem. The major negative thing I need to mention is a weird habit this controller has. Multiple times now,when I get into a game, something glitches because I get I to a game and menus are just scrolling down constantly as if I was holding down the left stick. I have to unplug and repugnant in my controller. I leave the usb C cable in my controller and only play wired but it seems I need to unplug it after I turn my PC off.

This is a GREAT controller. Absolutely spot on. Very responsive & it feels so smooth. I play mainly call of duty & aim assist feels great. the only problem is, it is a very small controller. my fingers go past the triggers and its hard to adjust. Trying to find one the same size as my Scuf Instinct Pro :(
