  • Great light and good CS!
Size: For 18~24inch Fish Tank
I have had no issues with this tank light and, when I had a question, it was answered promptly. I have a planted tank. The 24 hour cycle works great but keeping the light on that long increased algae growth. It now goes on the 6 hour cycle and it starts up every day automatically. My tank is clear and my plants look great. Good value too. ... show more

  • Great light, poor instructions, poor amazon customer service
Size: For 24~30inch Fish Tank
If you can get it programmed, this light is great. However, the design of the power cord inline controller, and the instructions for how to use it, suck. (Full disclosure: I have an IT background and consider myself a UX dweeb; I have a website devoted to the usability of medical software.) When I first got it, after reading the instructions, I was able to get it to the automatic 24-hour cycle. But then we had a several-hour power outage, and my wife found the lights shining brightly at 11 PM and simply pressed the power button to turn off the lights. This morning, I realized I needed to reset the timer for the 24-hour cycle. In the spirit of "if a door needs a user manual – even a one-word user manual – it's a design failure" I grabbed the inline controller and tried to figure out how to reset it. Press the 24-hour button? Did nothing. Press it several times? Did nothing. Maybe I need to press the 24 hour button and then the very flat 8 AM button? Nothing. Read the user instructions… didn't help. Looked on this page for more help… couldn't find any. OK, just press buttons at random to see what works. Finally figured it out. Press on/off button to turn unit on (essential) > press 24-hour button > wow, that "8 AM button" is a light that lights up! > press the 24-hour button a few times as those buttons (really lights) cycle through the day until I get back to 8 AM being lit > I'm back in business. **** UPDATE *** just a few days after purchasing I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. The company contacted me about my concerns, right away, in a respectful way. I did offer specific recommendations for improving the user instructions, which they said they would use in the next revision of their instructions. They also offered a partial refund, which I declined, as I thought it would taint this review update. I will also add that now that I have discovered how it works, the user interaction design seems pretty simple. In UX terms, not very discoverable but very learnable and memorable. When the power goes out, and I reset the timing for the 24 hour cycle, it's really quite easy now that I know how. I did put a label on the aquarium as a reminder but it's really pretty superfluous once I showed my wife how to do it. It is a "see one, do one, teach one" sort of skill. But then, I found out that someone – not me – had requested a replacement unit. I had no problem with the unit, just the instructions. I received the replacement unit without my request and was going to give it away until amazon demanded I return the original. Despite an hour of trying, I was unable to contact amazon to let them know this was a spurious return; I would end up at a dead end with both the text chatbot and the voice chatbot where none of the options applied. One star for amazon.com's customer service. ... show more

  • Love them!
Size: For 30~36inch Fish Tank
I’ve upgraded all of my tanks to having these. Easy to set up and lights the tank beautifully. My plants are thriving and I’m seeing fewer spots. The only thing that I think would be an improvement is if the little arms would click into place rather than always being so easy to slide in and out or a clip to hole them still, but I haven’t had any fall in. Awesome light for a great price! I haven’t noticed any flickering and all of the sizes have been accurate for my tank measurements. ... show more

  • Not what I expected but still good
Size: For 18~24inch Fish Tank
It seems that everyday you have to manually turn the light on even for 24hr mode because once it runs through the cycle for a full day it turns off and you have to turn it back on the next day. I thought it would automatically do this but apparently not. Otherwise it is a decent light but it’s temporary until I find something better. Edit: so I had to update as it’s my user error on the 24hr cycle , it actually works but when I got up one morning and the lights were off and indicator lights on the remote control were off I assumed it wasn’t working properly. But I overslept on the weekend and to my surprise the light came on by itself. I had to adjust the lighting schedule to my preferred time as I get home in the evening around 6:00 I don’t want the lights already going into evening mode then I can’t really enjoy the tank as by 7:00 pm it’s in full nighttime mode and you can’t really see into the tank so I have the schedule delayed by 2hrs so I can enjoy my time with my fish before I go to bed. Once you figure out how the timer works and you turn it on at specific times to meet your needs it’s great but because it’s got set intervals that you can’t change it means that since I’ve delayed it by 2hrs I have more brightness in the evening before it goes into night mode the sunrise will be delayed and come on later which is a little annoying but since I’m home more in the evening and that’s when I prefer to have the lights turned on that’s a compromise I had to make. Again it’s not perfect but it’s the best way I can make use of the light to fit my schedule. ... show more

  • 24 hour timer works great
Size: For 36~42inch Fish Tank
Easy set up and ease of use, provides great lighting. This is my second light, had a smaller version on a different tank. Worked well so I bought another. Happy with the product.

  • Fantastic aquarium light
Size: For 30~36inch Fish Tank
It can be programmed to change colors, dim or brighten in a specific manner and then off at night. Great function for the price. Would definitely buy again if needed.

  • Needs improvement
Size: For 30~36inch Fish Tank
Great light, but it comes with one big flaw. The brightness cannot be adjusted while on the 24 hour cycle. I would give it 5 stars if this were an option
