This is a great freezer. It replaced a 20 year old 8.5 cubic foot model that was still working fine but I got tired of defrosting it all the time. Auto defrost was the main reason I picked this freezer, and so far as I can tell, this is the smallest freezer that has that feature, aside from a few compact office freezers that aren’t practical for the kitchen. The freezer is almost as tall as our fridge. I wasn’t sure I wanted something that big, but now that it’s here, I appreciate having all the extra space. As you can see from the photos, I don’t have a lot in there yet. But I’m sure I’ll pack it up soon enough. I have a lot of allergies and tend to stock up on the foods and bakery items that I can eat so I don’t run out. The freezer is very quiet. I barely hear it kick in and really have to listen for it. It’s surprisingly easy to move and slide around on the floor. It has two wheels in the back and two adjustable leveling feet at the front. There’s a control panel inside the freezer at the top that has a light, digital readout and a few controls. The controls are locked by default, so to make changes, you just press and hold the ‘select’ button on the right. When the lock icon goes out, you can press the ‘switch’ button to toggle between fridge and freezer mode. Or press the ‘temp’ button to adjust the temp up or down, or between Celsius and Fahrenheit. I’m using Fahrenheit, and the freezer can be adjusted from -8 to -5 degrees. I’m using -5 and it can freeze a 1L bottle of water to a solid brick in about 3 hours. In fridge mode, you can adjust the temps from h 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit. The front handle needs to be attached and is easy to do with a flat head screwdriver, not included. There’s 2 larger screws and 2 tiny screws, and an included Allen wrench. Only the two tiny screws remain visible but aren’t obvious to the eye. My freezer was delivered in the box and the drivers didn’t unpack it. There’s a lot of styrofoam to deal with as well as the box itself. But the fridge is very well protected inside. I booked a 6am to 9am appointment, and by 10am, they still hadn’t arrived. I called them and they said they were still loading the truck and never deliver earlier than 11am, which is odd since they emailed me to confirm my 6am-9am appointment two weeks prior. They wanted to come between 11am-3pm but after a little pressure, they relented and came at 10:30am. The drivers were nice and delivered the freezer into my kitchen via the back door, but they still should’ve showed up on time to begin with. My delivery company was Pilot. Overall I’m quite happy with this freezer. The door is hard to open a second time right after closing it, but that’s only because it seals air tight, which is a good thing. The price was great for a freezer this big. I got the extended warranty just in case, but it seems quality made and I expect it to work for years to come. Hopefully for 20 years, like the one it replaced.

Purchased thru Amazon. Despite supposedly needing to be signed for, it was left on my porch. It was damaged, but since it's more cosmetic. located in the back, and doesn't affect performance, I'll not make a stink about it. The "manual" if you can call it that, is printed in such a tiny font that I had to take pics of it and blow it up to read it....also there was no warranty card with it. The gasket at the top of the door doesn't seal properly which is causing a frost build up inside the door, (this is a frost free freezer). Since I really like the size of this freezer I decided to call their customer service dept. to see if they'd send a replacement gasket because I really don't want to return it. To my delight, they are sending a technician out to repair it!! I love when that happens. The unit has a one year warranty so I'm pleased with the response. I've read negative reviews posted in 2021 about their C.S., so I feel like they've improved on that, based on my personal experience. UPDATE: after my initial contact with the manufacturer requesting a warranty repair, I got no further response. Amazon is replacing the fridge, hopefully the next one will be defect free because I really like the size of this freezer!

i have a side by side refrigerator with ice maker there was no room for a good supply so i purchased the freezer and had amazon personel deliver and put in the house they wer very friendly and careful with it ....I've had it for a few months now and love it theres plenty of room for frozen items and have had no problems

I have given this a 5 rating as I know it is fabulous as a fridge, and I have been using it since December of 2021. My only issue, which is not an issue to complain about is that the door seal is soooo ruddy good that I laugh and say I am going to get a hernia trying to open the door if I try to do this in quick succession. So patience is needed for the fridge to bring itself up to correct temperature before you can re-open it again (it doesn't take too long and I have learned to feel the grip by slipping my finger along the door seal and you can actually feel the gap widen slightly when it is ready to open). I had it shipped to the Caribbean for the purpose of a large fridge and use it as my larder (Fridge). I chose this unit because of the heat here and with hurricane season in mind and I plan to switch it to freezer mode prior to storms and I recon it will tide me over until power resumes.

We had the first one delivered in mid-March, including paying to have the delivery guys take it down to the basement. When I unpacked it, it was broken every which way but loose. Like someone had dropped it off a cliff before delivery. To give it credit, Amazon paid a logistics company to pick it up, although I first had to get it out of the basement and into the garage. Amazon took a hit on that sale, and it took a month to get a replacement. The previous one must have been the last one in Amazon's warehouse. Although I had to get the new one down into the basement myself (there would have to been a delay for the logistic company to make arrangements and confirm with Amazon), when I unpacked it, it was pristine and it is now running great. Good looking refrigerator/freezer - retro look, just like us. Only problem I had was putting on the handle. I had to widen out the recessed holes in the handle with a drill to put in the socket screws. Unfortunately, I did not notice it in attempting to screw on the handle, and it caused a couple of small scratches. But I am happy with the purchase - looking and running good.

I bought this freezer because it is frost free for that convenience. Chest freezers get full of ice which diminishes storage room. It is set on -6 degrees farenheit and I have not heard a peep out of it. My energy bill comparison from the previous year is no different. Ice cream hard as a brick!
