This is definitely a blackout shade. I put it up on my back door window and it made the room much darker. It was a perfect fit for my door also. It was rather easy to install. Although the instructions say it's machine washable, I can't imagine it resticking after going through the wash.

This is great to achieve that blackout experience that you want, plus it’s very easy to install. Hang, pull and you’re done. What could be easier? You just have to make sure that you have the correct measurements of your windows in order to get the right fit. If you’re a day sleeper because you work at nights, or you just prefer a darkened room, then I highly recommend you give this a shot.

This fabric shade does block light from getting through. With black on the inside, and reflective silver towards the outside, it manages to stay fairly cool too (although by middle of summer that might change). Easy to install, it fits our windows perfectly. At this point I have zero complaints or gripes, so it gets the 5 star treatment.

Easy enough to attach to window using the adhesive and velcro strips. Material is somewhat thinner than expected but does effectively block the light; just wonder how it will hold up over time. I did have some trouble with the magnetic bar so right now have not been using it, this is not an issue since I am not raising & lowering blind but leaving it stationary on this particular window. The true test will be when summer temps hit and windows really heat up to see if the adhesive holds and if this shade actually helps to keep the room cooler.

I was hesitant about no-drill blackout shades. The magnetic snaps are supposed to make installation super simple, but I just couldn't figure them out. There just wasn't enough explanation in the instruction. Also the adhesive strip that anchors the curtain to the sill isn't reusable so, once it's up, your stuck. That said, they truly do block out all light. I use them in my nursery for naptime, and it stays pitch black. The material is thick and insulating, and it helps regulate the room temperature too. A fantastic choice for anyone who wants an easy, mess-free solution to blackout their windows just as long as you are okay with them not being reusable and won't be rolling up the actual curtain often if at all.

This was easy to install and greatly blocks out light. The only thing I wish it could do is roll up automatically but that could be asking a lot. It does what it claims and is easy to install.
