Features

  • The TS-X 1440 features an image-stabilizing function, based on Fujifilms optical and mechanical design technologies nurtured through its development of interchangeable lenses for digital cameras and broadcast lenses. The use of a gyro sensor enables accurate detection of even the smallest of vibrations and controls the prism inside the body to achieve the vibration correction angle of 6.
  • With the effective diameter of 40mm for objective lens elements, the TS-X 1440 achieves an advanced level of light-gathering power. The companys unique EBC Multi-Coating is applied to control flare and ghosting while enhancing light transmittance, perfect for astronomical observation in low-light conditions.
  • Chromatic aberration is controlled by optimally positioning four objective lens elements in three groups and six ocular lens elements in four groups. This delivers edge-to-edge sharpness.
  • Designed with water and fog proof seals (Nitrogen Purged). O ring sealed.
  • Rubber armored body allows user to have a firm grip.

  • Remarkable image stabilization, great improvement over my previous Canon IS binoculars
Style: TS-X 14x40 Color: Black
I have owned a pair of Canon 12x36 IS II image stabilized binoculars since 2011. They have been well used and a couple of years ago the rubber-feel coating became sticky -as reported by many others. I removed the sticky coating with Isopropyl Alcohol, however now 2 years on the housing surrounding one of the front elements has become lose interfering with focusing, so time to change..... After a lot of research I decided not to go with the with newer model Canon 12x36 IS III Image Stabilized Binoculars since reportedly the surface coating has not been changed and still has a tendency to become sticky after several years. The new range of Canon image stabilized binoculars have the newer lens shift image stabilization with the improved +/- 1.0 degrees of stabilzation, but the front lens diameter is only 32mm, limiting image brightness and exit pupil size. They are also more expensive than the optically superior Canon 12x36 IS III binoculars with the previous generation vari-angle prism image stabilization and it's +/- 0.8 degrees of stabilization. The Fujinon 14x40 TSX1440 Techno-Stabi Image-Stabilized Binoculars have 40mm front lenses, a remarkable +/- 6.0 degrees of image stabilization and they're waterproof. I thought Canon's image stabilization was very good, but the Fujinons raise the bar significantly. With stabilization switched on you can actually get a steady image from a moving vehicle! For my use of wildlife viewing and bird watching while hiking they are incredible. True they are heavier and bulkier than the Canon 12x36's, but the improvement in magnification of 14x over 12x , the image brightness, clarity and stabilization definitely make carrying the extra weight worthwhile. Fact is in a side by side comparison my wife and I could both see details with the Fujinon 14x40 binoculars that were impossible to see with the Canon 12x36's. The front lenses on the Fujinons have 48mm threads so they can be protected with UV filters (I picked up a pair of Chiaro Pro 48mm 98-UVATS UV Filters) and lens caps (Sensei 48mm Clip-On Lens Cap). One last thought, the eye relief is infinitely adjustable on the Fujinons from 5mm to 13mm, and far more comfortable than the hard rubber eye cups on the Canons that can only be folded back for spectacle wearers. If you're in the market for image stabilized binoculars and the extra weight is not an issue, I thoroughly recommend these. You will not be disappointed! ... show more

  • High magnification with stabilizer is great
Style: TS-X 14x40 Color: Black
I took awhile to make up my mind on these, because they are expensive. I read some complaints online about the stabilization not working, but the ones I bought work really well. Looking through them and then clicking the stabilizer on makes you realize what a huge benefit it is. Take care of them and they should last a long time, manufacture and materials seem to be very high quality. If you really value being able to see things up close and with great detail, these are the best binoculars out there in my opinion. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Image is cloudy....seriously bad
Style: TS-X 14x40 Color: Black
I purchased these because of the reviews and great reputation. I am familiar with other modes from Fujinon. My pair came and I was super excited to try them out. Sadly, my West Marine optics were hands above these. I really believe I simply got a bad pair. The image with stabi on or off is terrible. Clouded and very hard to make out. Yes, I cleaned the lenses though the ylooked perfectly clean. Yes, I adjusted them according to the directions even though I've use binocs for a very long time boating. They just have a terrible image. I will contact Fujinon support and see if they can help and if not, I'll return through Amazon. Update: I did get another pair from B&H photo and they worked great. They were also packaged properly and didn’t get bounced around so bad. The packaging for the original pair from Amazon was basically a big empty box with my $1,200.00 binoculars bouncing around inside. These ones have great imaging. ... show more

  • image stabilazation makes viewing much better
Style: TS-X 14x40 Color: Black
Gyros are what make this a special binoculars. When trying to hand hold binoculars and be able to focus at long distance it is very difficult if not impossible with regualar binoculars. Press a button and you turn on the gyro unit, the image is very stable and allows you to see clearly without any shake or vibration. Very comfortable viewing for long periods of time without any extra support. Lens are of good quailty and crisp with great light transmission and nice smooth focus. The 14 power brings far away images up close. The case is also good quailty and protects binoculars during travel. The weight is one negative, they are heavy and large so small hands may not like holding them or hanging from your neck for long periods of time. Gyro will hold posistion up to 6 degrees, more than other units, before they loose stablization, on a rocking boat it may be a bit difficult to hold stready. Requires 4 batteries but battery life is good. Has auto off to save battery life ... show more
