We got this as an alternative to the cone of shame our vet provided us after our puppy was neutered. What I really like about this recovery suit is that it's made of all cotton (which makes it breathable). It's essentially a nice-weight for a t-shirt (not too thin). However, it would be thin enough that my dog could possibly do damage by licking or scratching, except for this—it has another panel sewn into the belly area to provide extra comfort and safety to their surgery zone (see picture). That has proven to be really important for our circumstances. We were so happy with it that we ordered a second, and I highly recommend that you buy at least two. Let me explain. These will stretch out with wear, which means the fabric around the rear legs might begin to gape, giving your pet space to lick their wounds or pull at stitches. I've been washing our dog's each day, so while one is in the wash, the other can be worn. Doctors always tell you to put a cone on your dog after surgery because it keeps them from accessing the area to lick. What they don't seem to realize is that it does nothing to prevent scratching. These surgery suits prevent both actions, and they won't humiliate your dog. Our dog seems very comfortable in the PJs (surgery suit), and doesn't fight me at all to put them on. Frankly, I think he looks super-cute in them, too!

This was a little tricky the first time I put it on my post spay pet as there is only a picture but no written instructions. BUT, after figuring out the head opening from the tail it works like magic. Not only did she leave the surgical site alone but we avoided having to use the cone she came back from surgery wearing. This onesie was soothing whereas the cone agitated her. The sturdy Velcro straps allow easy opening for walks so she was able to relieve herself. I suggest buying at least two of these so you always have a clean one available. This is day three post op and so far this has been a lifesaver. Sutures are removed in ten days so it’s more than a one time wearing. Soft material and it washes/dry beautifully.

Fabric is awesome and very soft. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the fit is a little off. I got thw XL hoping it would fit her well, but it’s a bit too small and I see it on her “shoulders” (please see pictures). I bought it mainly to rotate with the other one she has in case a little accident happens and to give her a break from the terrible cone. However, I’m glad it fits well in the back paws, it’s tight enough that prevents the dog from liking the stitches (my problem with the suit I have from a different brand is that if she wants to, she can totally work her nose into the suit and lick the incision, and this one is literally the opposite of it 🤩). Even it being a little small for her, she still walks around just fine and is able to move well. The color is super cute too and they have lots of options. The padded grey cotton that goes under their belly is well made and soft enough that brings me certainty that it won’t irritate her incision. Overall, I’d just size up and not base your purchase on your dog’s weight (that was my mistake). It was a good purchase ☺️

I don't usually write reviews but this product was so awesome, I just had to. It was very easy to put on and the fit was great! I measured the pup as described and it was perfect. The fabric is super soft with just enough stretch to get it on easily and maintain comfort for puppy after surgery. The incision site is well protected. But the best part is the roll up design for potty time. It is so dang easy and it rolls up well out of the way so you don't have to worry about sprays or drips, or worse. I highly recommend this product!!

I bought the size small for my 6 month old, 10 lb.-13 in. tall Cockapoo puppy, I measured him like they said to and so glad I didn’t wing it or just eyeball it and just order what I thought might work. I was also impressed at how fast it was delivered to me after I ordered it, he was neutered and microchipped and I needed this cute body suit, soft neck donut, belly bands and diapers to keep him calm and to keep him from licking his incision site, this suit fits him snugly even with his doggy diaper on him, it looks comfortable on him, it seems to be well made. I wish I could get better photos but he is in pain and I am going to let him rest. I do recommend this suit and will buy from this company again when my 10 week old boxer puppy is old enough to be neutered and microchipped. I will use this suit again if my cockapoo puppy develops hot spots. I am very pleased and it was a Great purchase!

Material is a cotton knit so it WILL shrink when washed. Of course, it is also a very thin fabric, so tears easily. Good or bad (?) there is a small amount of spandex, so it does provide a little compression on the post-op site. Perhaps limits motion slightly so post-op dog is not running around like crazy. I didn't check to see if all the brands are made of cotton. My dog managed to tear a hole in the side on the first day of wearing it. (NOT because she chewed on it). I got the correct size according to the measurement chart given online, but it was a tight fit!! I suggest that you get at least one size bigger (especially since it will shrink). I can't return it because it is torn, but wish I could.

This suit helped my dog through recovery! He had a tumor removed from his stomach area. He did not do well with a cone! Absolutely hated it!! This made all the difference for him! I really think it depends on the dog, I had another dog that would have probably tried to rip the fabric, but my guy licked a little but mostly just left it alone. I really think it depends on dog! The suit is made very well! Good quality!! Thank you so much it made him so much more comfortable and helped alot
