I see some negative reviews slamming the product but either A: they did NOT prep the window/ frame and it was dusty, or B: the window is crap and the paint if peeling off of the frame and is damp/ or porous and not suitable for this type of thing. I had no trouble and I've never used anything like this before, EVER. I windexed my windows first and made sure they were free of dust, I applied the tape and let it sit for about 10-15 min before I applied the plastic sheeting, and I had no problems. Don't get the hair dryer too close to the sheet and make sure you keep it on high and moving around, thats my only tip. IF some of your windows are ancient like my attic windows, and the paint is already chipping off, it will undoubtedly remove the paint in chunks and it will mess with the seal, so be cautious and make sure any loose paint is not on the surface before hand. These take some time and focus to install no matter what brand you get. But I've consistently found this brand well worth the time for the energy savings. It's not fun to install, so don't do this at the end of your day or when you have no patience. Pay attention to the materials you should adhere it to and as long as you follow instructions you should be fine. I have some old/flaky paint that it does strip off but it does warn about this. There's plenty of adhesive tape included though if you for some reason run out they do sell it separately. Overall the perfect kit for me and my home as one kit covers all windows and I save well over the $15 it costs on energy bills in the New England winters. ... show more

Clean your windows first. Clean the frame where the tape will go, I use rubbing alcohol to make sure the tape gets good adhesion then wipe any remaining alcohol with a clean cloth. Make sure the tape is pressed in all around the frame BEFORE you remove the paper backing on the double sided tape. Carefully place the film across the top of the window first, then work the sides down and then the bottom edge. The use of a hair dryer gets a good tight fit and removes the wrinkles and waves in the plastic. Trim away any excess film. Always pleased with my results. ... show more

Update: I tried warming my window trim with the hair dryer and was able to get the tape to stick. Backing peeled off easily and they were fairly easy to apply. Hopefully they stay up and sealed Several people have complained about the tape backing not peeling off, but I didn’t even get that far. I cleaned and dried around my windows but the tape wouldn’t stick at all. Wasn’t even able to get one side up on to the window frame. Awful ... show more

I got this pack to do a few of my single pane windows around the house. It was so easy and no stress at all. I then decided to go to the store and do more windows. They only had the 3M/Scotch tape one at the store. It was night and day in difference. The 3M adhesive wasn’t as sticky, harder to peel the backing off of, and the plastic came in thinner and lower quality sheets. I highly recommend the Frost King version. ... show more

The good news is, even if your package shows up beaten to crap, the product still works! This is actually how my package arrived 😂 completely open and looks like it’s been chewed up by a dog. But I love this window wrap and it makes a huge difference in the winter for us. Will buy it every time!
