How long do the mineral and SmartChlor cartridges last? The blue mineral cartridge lasts 4 months. The silver SmartChlor Cartridge lasts 3 to 4 weeks depending on the size of your hot tub and how often it is used. Replace the SmartChlor Cartridge when FROG @ease flips over. What impacts the life of the SmartChlor Cartridge? Water balance is very important – especially avoid pH over 7.8 as it will degrade the effectiveness of SmartChlor. Over circulation such as being pulled into the filter well will also deplete the cartridge (using a tether is recommended). How is FROG @ease different from traditional sanitizing methods? I have a new softub Portico. At first I used the powdered chemicals that came with the starter kit. It was a royal pain. I would check daily, make adjustments, etc. It was very difficult to get the water clear. So I bought a bunch of additional products (filter cleaner, water cleaners, non-chlorine shocks, etc) and it did not restore the water to clear. And I had to really focus daily on tweaking the chlorine and pH levels. It was a pain. I don't work for Frog @ Ease, but I will tell you that once we switched to that product, most everything was solved. I test the pH once or twice a week and make adjustments. Our water became clear after 1 day of use. I spend 90% less time chasing my chemical levels. I'm not even sure if I need to non-chlorine shock anymore though I probably will. I clean my filter probably every 2 weeks. The other thing about Frog @ Ease is that the water is much less chlorinated. My skin is not dry and itchy. The water seems softer and silkier. I sound like a commercial. But I have to say, the product has exceeded my expectations. I wish it were cheaper. But I save so much time, I don't care. And the experience in the tub is better. We are going to drop off the used pods at a local Frog dealer and apparently they are made into plastic furniture.

So far pretty simple and functional

So far the system seems simple and mostly maintenance free. I haven’t seen how long the cartridge lasts yet, but if it lasts the whole month then it’ll be much easier than adding a half scoop every time I use the tub and remembering to add it if I don’t use the tub for 2 or three weeks.

Frog System Keeps Your Water Clear

We love our Frog system for our hot tub. We've had it for years and it keeps our hot tub water as clear as day. It floats until we're ready for a new cartridge then flips upside down. It smells like chlorine should so I really don't have any complaints there. The fact that it comes with the test trips really helped us get our water balanced for the first time after our hot tub wasn't operating for 2 years due to a move and we filled it with well water versus city water at the old house. The cartridge's are super easy to swap out when your ready. I also didn't know until I ready the product description that the blue part also needs to be changed out occasionally so I didn't hesitate to order a new one after I discovered I couldn't find the one from 2 years ago. Again we love this product and will continue to buy it to keep our hot tub clean!

Easy and Effective!

This kept the water in my kiddie pool so clean! Truly impressive. It was incredibly easy to use, and I liked being able to control how much chlorine was coming out with the dial. The testing strips were easy to use to see if anything needed adjusting.
