  • Frigidaire 8,000 BTU Smart Window Air Conditioner
Style: New 2024 8,000 BTU
Powerful cooling and very easy to control with the app or remote. Cools the room quickly and works well for hot days. Installation is straightforward and overall performance is solid. A bit noisy at times, but very effective.

  • Extremely loud
Style: New 2024 8,000 BTU
Okay so the thing definitely cools the room off very much so. It works like it should. The remote control is not lighted so I always got to turn the lights on to operate it. It also doesn't have the textile feel that you would remember where the buttons are. On eco mode which I use a lot. There's a real issue with it. There's no light on the AC unit itself that lets you know that it's on. When it's on eco mode it will cycle off and in the morning if it's off I will forget that it's even on. I probably would have gave it five stars if it was a little bit more quieter. It sounds like an AC unit in a freezer Warehouse. Holy hell this thing is loud. Even on the lowest blower setting it is the loudest White noise you've ever heard. Some people like that I guess it drones out the noise outside, but for me I would have liked it a little bit quieter. Since it's an inverter style air condition it does have a water collection near the fan. Well there's a problem with that. The water gets stale and nasty and next thing you know you're constantly catching a cold. All that moles flies back into your room. So I did a very simple thing and drilled a couple of holes on the bottom of it, but be careful not to hit the condenser as you don't want to lose the freon and destroy your air conditioner. Now some will say that I shouldn't have done this because it's a way it keeps the AC unit cool on the outside. Nonetheless it worked right this summer without any mold. There was a huge recall with the Midea u-shaped air condition because they did not put any drainage and people were getting sick. Just to recap, the remote control is not lighted and hard to find the buttons at night. The air condition is extremely loud. There is no indicator on the air conditioner to tell if it's on or off during the economy mode cycling process. Other than the faults it is a very capable air conditioning of freezing you out of your room. The room that it's in is 15x12 with 8 ft ceilings on the second floor. ... show more

  • I LOVE this air conditioner
Style: New 2024 8,000 BTU
I received this item and I have to tell you I LOVE it!!! I'm not sure why people are complaining about the noise. Compared to the A/C we replaced, this is whisper quiet. I love the fact that it has a remote. There are buttons that you can feel. Someone had mentioned in another review that the remote was flat and you couldn't memorize where the buttons are. I'm looking forward to seeing how it interacts with Alexa and have the ability to control it remotely. ... show more

  • Not worth the time and money
Style: New 2024 8,000 BTU
I purchased this unit on May 17th through Amazon. About 3 three 3 weeks later the dust filter light comes on. So naturally I cleaned the screen/filter that came with the unit. After allowing the filter to dry, I put it back in and turned AC on. Five minutes later it shut off and dust filter light was on. Knowing that I had just cleaned it. I started to trouble shoot. I unplugged the AC waited five minutes and turned back on. When I plugged it back in, I noticed the dust filter light did not shut off. Again five minutes later it shut off again. So again I unplugged the AC and waited 15 minutes and plugged it back in, and then turned it on. Again the light stayed on, and AC shut off. This time after unplugging unit I waited 30 minutes and plugged AC back in, turned it on. The dust filter stayed on, but AC did not shut off. The next day I called Frigidaire and they said they couldn't tell me anything until I registered the AC, even though I gave them the model and serial number. At this point I was getting really frustrated with the product support and hung up. I eventually registered the AC that evening after getting off work. So I proceeded to call product support back the following day only to have them tell me that I need to purchase a specific filter for my AC, so the dust filter light will shut off. Imagine my frustration after hearing this. Utterly ridiculous. At the time I could not purchase the $35 filter, oddly they're filter is more expensive than the air filter and cabin air filter in my car, combined. Fast forward to August second and the dust filter light is still on, but now I have a second problem with the AC. The reset button on the power plug is stuck out and won't stay in when attempting to reset the AC. I don't know what the cause of this problem is. I called Frigidaire product support and the agent said they had no information on me, even though this isn't the first time I have called with an issue. Was is extremely infuriating is while I was getting the serial number for my AC unit, the agent hung up on me. Not only am I discouraged about the AC I purchased, but product support for Frigidaire is a joke, as they have no record of my purchase and then the agent hung up on me. Definitely, not durable, quiet, and most of all it is not very quiet. I am extremely disappointed in Frigidaire. If I have to send in for repair or replacement, I will be out of an AC for an unknown amount of time and Texas heat is not forgiving. Not to mention I have two indoor pets. After today I see no reason to purchase anything from Frigidaire, as the quality of the AC is not worth it, but obviously they're product support is definitely lacking in support. Purchase at your own risk. ... show more

We already have one of these window units. I like the other so much I opted for a second one. This one appeared to arrive in good condition but once I installed it in the window I noticed some loose styrofoam. Apparently this unit was damaged at some point and there is a wide open hole to the outside world as well as several chunks of loose styrofoam inside. ... show more
