It's quite early to write a review I just used it for the first night it takes a little of putting together you have to slide the sides on that expand in the window that's accordion type and I screwed on the top bar which holds it against the window so it don't fall out I screwed in two little screws through my windows to hold it. It seems to work very well it's not very noisy at all. I have a Frigidaire in my living room, unfortunately I've been complaining about a smell since I got it it almost smells like ozone or dirty smoke air. Beyond that, I'm hitting 50/50 with Frigidaire. I complained about the one in the living room to the company but they never really did anything they didn't want to replace it, but giving customers bad merchandise will eventually lose your business that you won't get back I'm sure the man who started Frigidaire products would roll over in his grave if he thought that the new generation of community college people dismiss customers problems. Eventually that leads to an effect in your bottom line. But I love the black and it's really pretty and it works well and I love the controller it's large another problem is when I'm in the bedroom using the controller it turns on my air conditioner in the living room because they're the same product even though they're different models. First, the box was solid with no holes or dents. HOWEVER, the air conditioner unit itself had a couple of very small dents, on the part that goes outside the window so I didn't care, as long as everything worked. It was insignificant enough that I'm sticking with 4 stars. (Just too noisy for 5!) This air conditioner works great. It cools things off really quickly but, as others have mentioned, this is LOUD! Even on the lowest settings, this is not a quiet unit. If it was in the bedroom, that might be an issue but where we have it, it doesn't really matter that much. What matters is how well it works! Lastly, this seems to be pretty energy efficient. (The unit we were replacing -- old -- was tripping the circuit breaker all the time. This one hasn't tripped it once, even when running all night, with the compressor going on and off.) SO . . it's great, it's a great price, it does exactly what you want it to do! It just kinda tells you that it's doing it, if you know what I mean! ... show more

Awesome air conditioner, it has more cooling power than the previous version I bought and it’s so much lighter and easier to carry. It was also $200 cheaper than the my last Frigidaire air conditioner. It’s a bit loud on the max setting, but I put it in the kitchen so I’m rarely right next to it. Much quieter on low which it can stay just fine on low and still keep my place cool. I highly recommend it. ... show more

******UPDATE******: We bought this AC for a walk-up NYC apartment. Our super installed the AC about 1 week after we received it. It initially worked well, and then about 2.5 weeks after using it it completely BROKE!!! Like it literally stopped working out of the blue during such a hot summer. The worst part is the amazon customer service - I called amazon to have this product returned or replaced, and they said my return window closed THREE days prior to my call so they are unable to help me. They instead said they will send me an email that contains the contact information for Frigidaire since the AC is under warranty. I asked again if there is anything amazon can do since we spent about $100 in tips just to have the AC carried up 4 floors and installed, and the representative said no the only thing they can do is get me in contact with Frigidaire. I checked my email after the call ended only to find that they sent me the link to the product page on amazon instead of a contact link. The service is laughable. TERRIBLE customer service, just giving me the run around so they have to do less work. We bought the 12000 BTU AC and it should have worked better, but instead they sent us a faulty AC that broke within 2.5 weeks of use. I'm so disappointed in frigidaire for the product. Amazon sells similar AC's for half the price - if the AC is going to suck and break anyway, I guess I should have paid $150 for the amazon AC instead of $300 for the frigidaire one? What a big waste of money and time. For the future customers, if you are going to buy this use it ASAP and decide whether you want to return it within the 30 day window so you're not stuck. Old review: I bought this AC to replace a standalone AC that we’ve had for many years. It works well and keeps our room cool. I searched a few different websites before deciding on buying it on Amazon since it gave the best price and free shipping with prime. Plus point is the Amazon delivery driver brought it up to our 4th floor apartment instead of leaving it in the package area (we asked them to do so in the “comments” section) so we appreciate that! ... show more

It's very easy to install. It's definitely louder than what I expected. (Midea is less noisy but it is VERY hard to install and that installation process is not worth the risk). When you foam everywhere the noise is less. A better choice than Midea.
