Things to be aware of before buying: 1. Ice has a hole in the center, so takes up more space than a solid cube. We use to supplement our refrigerator ice maker, so it fills the bin but you don't get as much ice as the space consumed. 2. Ice is barely frozen, so it drips in the ice machine & clumps when added to the freezer. I have to break it up after moving to our freezer ice bin. 3. To maximize cube size, you should pre-cool the water fed to the machine. Otherwise it takes longer and the cubes produced are smaller. The pros, this has worked consistently and is relatively quiet (there is a constant noise from the fan, but it isn't doesn't really bother me). It is heavy, so based on that it seems to have quality components on the inside. If they produced solid cubes and the compartment was maybe 5 degrees cooler so the ice didn't drip/melt, it would be a solid 5 star machine. ... show more

There's nothing I don't LOVE ❤️ about my ice maker. It's starts off with, melt in your mouth baby ice then you make a choice between S or L bullet's of ice. Either way, every 9 minutes or so, the ice drops. As long as you dump the ice every 30-40 minutes, it keeps on going all day.

Love this machine. Have one at work. So I already knew how to operate it. What to remember is, when red light ( full) is on, check to make sure that all ice is all down below top edge. It has a sensor to make it stop and if one piece of ice is up there it will stop making ice. DO NOT over fill!!! It will not make ice.. It will just melt what you have. I leave mine on 24/7 same as we do at work. Runs great!! ... show more

So glad this arrived in a timely fashion! We are in the middle of a heat wave (the temp here was 106° F yesterday) and this ice maker was worth the price. The ice maker in our fridge couldn't keep up with our usage and this provides plenty of ice in a short time. It does put out a bit of heat and is noisy when the ice dumps into the bin, but that's only a minor nuisance. Unfortunately, the ice is very wet when it's made so when you transfer it to a bin in the freezer it will freeze together. I think this would be a problem with any ice maker of this type and a few wacks with a little hammer solves the problem. Overall I'm very happy with it. ... show more

when ever I come inside from the summer heat, I have ice for my drink! Ice maker in the fridge quit working and this will work until we replace the refrigerator next year.

Our parents have hard water so they can’t have an ice maker in their fridge. We bought this for them to use with their water machine so they don’t have to go out and buy ice. They love it and use it to stock up, then when their stock gets low they refill. Makes quick ice and the noise is quiet, makes some additional noise when the ice is falling but that’s expected. My family uses a lot of ice and the ice maker in our fridge freezes over often. This ice maker is not very loud and makes a good amount of ice quickly. I have had to clean it twice out since owning it a few days after the first clean out from unpacking. The reservoir will catch anything that might fall in from scooping the ice changing the flavor even though the filter will keep it from going through. Shipping had the box tilted more than the 45deg I saw in other reviews so I waited 2 hours for chemicals to settle no issues on startup nice and quiet. Planing on using for trips takes up the same space as a small bread maker and gets used a lot more often. Would rate higher but the rate at which the unused ice melts turns the ice into clumps and having to find a way to store the ice scoop near and clean just annoying (a small clip hook anything would have been nice) inside the ice tray just ends up with a half full ice tray saying it's full. So other then minor issues yes the ice melting is a small matter due to shape being easy to break up clumps and will just melt to reservoir and be refrozen quickly. The more ice it has and melts the cooler it gets the faster and more efficient it works. ... show more
