First, you’ll need the right tools. I used a jig saw, and a hand held sander… cutting was easy with a guide attached to the door. Then sanded inside edges to fit. I always cut slightly smaller and then work out. Reason is that you can always enlarge but it’s hard to shrink if you cut too much to begin with. That said; the plans and proposed process are easy to follow. Took me about 45 minutes… photos included. ... show more

It's a well made unit and the instructions were good. Installation of the dog door itself was not a problem. Taking down a solid core door getting it on saw horses, cutting it, and rehanging door was the challange. As 70 + seniors we don't have the uumph we used to have and those solid core doors are beefy. But we did it! The dog is using it after two days so that's a really good thing, too. ... show more
