Very easy to set up. Went away for a little over two weeks and this worked better than any dissolvable vacation feeder that could potentially add ammonia to your tank. I Set it to feed every 12 hours. When I got home the tank was crystal clear and my fish was doing great! Highly recommend this product. I used my own brand new batteries for extra safety, it does come with batteries. You can stick it to the tank or use the apparatus they provide to prop it onto the tank in any position. You don’t even hear it when it turns to feed, it’s extremely quiet. If you’re a frequent traveler or just seeking a reliable way to feed the fish while you’re gone 1 day or 20, this is a great product. Filled the barrel (a little more than half full) with flakes. This is broken in 2 months. This was used in my outdoor pool. When I checked after 2 months, water has gone inside, the food was a gooey mess and it does not work even after changing batteries. A waste of $18.

The media could not be loaded. This is on a 6 gal vertical tank which has a built in LED light in the center of the lid and a small 1/2 inch opening towards the front for something. Cut a small block of wood to fit the feeders clamp and used the supplied adhesive tape ( it’s like Joes Sticky Stuff) to adhere the block to the plastic lid. The white funnel is because of the opening isn’t big enough, the feeders hatch will tend to spill excess food in about a 2-inch radius from the opening. This little funnel solved that. 2 AA batteries last quite a while and I’m using mine for 12 hour feedings. It’s dispensing Hikari baby pellet size goldfish food with the latch set to the fifth stop at about 1/2 tsp per serving (only 2 3-inch goldfish in the tank) Testing for the next vacation but it looks really reliable as long as you put in fresh batteries before you leave. ... show more

Just bought my second unit… first one worked great…. for a year… then it stopped working… fortunately I found out before the fish died :) …. But obviously I still trust it as I’m ordering a second one… will just be monitoring it closer now on
