I picked up a Fractal Design Focus G case for a budget build. I paired it with: - MSI ProSeries MATX B450M Pro-M2 Max - AMD Ryzen 5 3400G - M2 solid-state drive - Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 16GB (2 X 8GB) - LG Blu-ray internal reader/writer - Raidmax 635W Scorpio modular power supply As this setup did not need a video card I stuck with regular air cooling. Everything went together great and I had no problems. Building a PC these days is nothing like it was back in the 90's, when cases were cramped, a dropped screw would get lost in its crevices, and the case frame would cut you! Pros: - This mid tower case is relatively light and has a clean look that's professional enough for work but cool enough for gaming - Includes two LED fans on the front, the ones on my case were white but I believe there are options for other colors - There is a clear panel on one side and a solid one on the other, both come with thumbscrews - A drive rack/cage to hold a couple of internal hard drives is on the bottom of the case and has plastic sleds that pull out. - Form and finish are both good; I didn't have trouble turning screws or having anything bend when tightening them. I saw several negative reviews where some people had troubles with the screws; I'm sorry it didn't work out for some setups, but my experience with the case was pleasant. Someone mentioned it in the reviews: if you're having trouble getting the mobo standoffs in/out, the accessories pack that comes with the case includes a little adapter that fits on the standoffs to help you with them. - The top, back, and bottom of the case are perforated and the top and bottom have dust filters; the case theoretically should be able to easily draw or release air as necessary - Media panel is at top of case, and supports headphone an mic jacks, a USB 2 port, and a USB 3 port - Decent room for cable management Cons: - While my setup left lots of room for air flow (no video card), I was disappointed that the case when powered had a slight hum. It was still quiet, but as I had no traditional hard drive and no video card fans, I was hoping for it to be much more silent. It was possibly the power supply fan, but looking at the case reviews I see others also noticed some noise so it is probably the case fans. - If your mobo has only one fan connector as mine did, you'll want to invest in a splitter cable for a few bucks more. With two fans being the default for the case, it's too bad one couldn't have been thrown in. - If you have lots of internal drives (more than two), this isn't the case for you. Final thoughts: I really thought this was a very good budget case. If you're looking to get away in the $55 range, this one is a solid one.

An exceptional case for the price. A simple, yet beautiful design coupled with a surprising build quality for the price are the stars of the show here. If you told me another case out there existed that was as cheap, readily available, and well-built as this one, I just wouldn't believe you. I put together a cheap build for a cousin and settled on the Focus G, the case is relatively light weight and made mostly of thin paint coated metal. As for the interior, there is an acceptable amount of space for routing cables and room for longer graphics cards. It was easy to work with for the most part. Fractal Design includes two white LED fans that are pre-installed, they're silent and work well. Despite not installing any additional fans (Excluding GPU and Heatsink fans) temperatures under load were superb. The perforated metal mesh on the case allows air to flow through without issue and some dust filters are present around the areas where air is expected to flow through. The only issue I had with this case was within the hard drive cage. The brackets included were a little difficult to work with for me, but they functioned. On the topic of the drive cage, I think it is important to mention that it is screwed in place and not riveted, which was a welcome surprise at this price range. All in all, the best buy you can make if you're on a budget.

Pros: -The packaging is nice -The design of the case is a pleasant matte color (I chose the white variant) -Mesh in front and 2 fans for airflow (and a variety of options to place the fans elsewhere, I bought an extra one for the back) -Inexpensive price for a good case -Came with everything needed from it for a PC build Cons: -Cheapish screws (usable, but the black paint came off of them, overall felt they could be better) -Side view window got scratches on it as soon as I removed the plastic covering it I made this purchasing decision with my PC build last, as I was not originally going to buy a new case. However, this fit what I was looking for: a nice looking case with a side view window, a little LED lighting, a 5.25" slot for a disc drive, and it was under $100. Building with it was relatively easy, although as mentioned above the screws could be of a higher quality. I would also like to note that the screws on the side panels are meant to unscrew and stay in the panels. I, having only worked with screws that completely remove themselves from side panels, didn't know this and managed to completely remove a screw that was not supposed to do that. That was my error, but I wanted to mention it. Cable management is meh, but that might be due to this being my first full build. The main gripe I have with the case is the side window material. I removed the plastic protecting it and put it on the case soon after, and it already had several scratch marks. It's upsetting, but I partially knew what I was getting into with a side window that wasn't glass. I'm not all that bothered by it now, but it is unfortunate. Overall, this is a decent case for the price, but be incredibly careful when handling the side view window.

Excellent condition and quality. Exactly what I wanted. One of the only full towers I could find with a CD tray and the right shape. However, as I tried to install a radiator on top, the space was too tight and the radiator had to be wedged above the CD tray. (Turns out my radiator was 276mm instead of the recommended 240mm, but goes to show it will fit a big one with some finagling.) Thankfully since there are two tray slots, my CD player could go in the second slot. Comes with an air filter for the radiator section, but my radiator screws (from a separate product) were short when trying to go through the case and its filter, so I only managed to get one in. (The radiator is held up by being wedged above the CD tray). The screws for boosting the height of the motherboard didn't screw in easily and I needed pliers to get them in. (so -0.1 rating points) The big panels on both sides come off for easy installation of parts. Comes with 2 front case fans with long enough wires to reach the motherboard, so you only need a 120mm rear fan. Comes with a power button / reset button / power-on LEDs with wires (long enough to reach the motherboard), but these wires are all separate (not one big connector) and you need to be careful putting them into the correct slots on the motherboard. Also comes with audio ports on the top with wires. There are vents on the top, rear, front, and bottom (for airflow), and none on the sides. To that end, the case has four legs to lift it off the ground for ventilation. The case is metal, the left side window is plastic, and the front (both white siding and the black grill) is plastic. The front comes off easily by lifting from the bottom and pulling out, held in by hidden clips. The CD tray slots can then be unclipped and taken out. The bottom CD tray has a metal plate that must be bent and broken out to be used, and doing so won't hurt anything. There is lots of space for harddrives / SSDs. The front two SSD wracks are visible in the pictures, but the main wrack is actually hidden behind the wall where the motherboard attaches. And there's a hole in the middle wall close to the motherboard's edge so you can easily put your hidden SSD cable through it and attach it to a motherboard SATA slot. If you buy this case first, there are specs on the side of the packaging to tell you exactly what will fit. Try not to be confused by all the numbers in the names of computer parts like I did. The product was packaged in a box with thick styrofoam and came nice and clean with no damages.

Picked this up for my newest build. I was looking for something with decent cooling, as well as space for optical drives - which so many cases just don't have (at least as mid towers.) I didn't really care about a side window, I didn't want to spend over $100, and white would be a bonus. I nearly picked up two other cases before noticing they had no mounting or accessibility for a front optical drive. Blah. And they were so focused (currently) on "Has tempered glass" and "Makes the vegas strip look dark and boring!" I'm glad I didn't buy the other cases. This one's a joy to work in, and has plenty of thoughtful touches (like a screwdriver adapter that fits over the mainboard standoffs to make installation really easy.) It's a nice, clean looking design - and if you're worried about the lighted fans in the front turning this into an oversize night light, the mesh mutes them into a nice design touch (and they don't brighten the inside of the case much. I don't see leaving this on as being a problem.) It's got space for radiator mounting in front and up top, and room for an SSD in back. It's only got room for two hard drives in its cage, which so far is the only thing I can consider a complaint, really. The plastic front is a slightly different white shade than the painted portion. And it doesn't come with a rear fan. If fI had to complain about anything, those would... pretty much be it. Definitely worth a look. Pros: - Price! - Clean look - Thoughtful and complete hardware inclusion (including optional panel lock and nut-driver adapter for a screwdriver.) - Front fans - Easy to reach filter mesh on the bottom (no having to get inside the case.) - Two front accessible 5.25" bays for optical drives or what have you. - Lot of cable routing cutouts and room. Cons: - Front fans are lit. Not obnoxious, but if you want no lighting at all, they'll need replacing. - Only space for two drives in the bottom drive cage. - Giant side window (if you don't like those.) No option I saw for not having one. - No rear fan. (Space for a single radiator or 120mm fan. ) EDIT, 2/2022: After having this case a few years, I wanted to add a few notes. 1. The front mesh has a foam backing to it. After a few years of use, this *really* needs cleaning - and *really* doesn't want to let dust go, no matter how much you take it out and try to vacuum or wash it (a shop-vac might have the suction.) I'd advise, if buying this case, to take the front off, spend 20 minutes or so with a screwdriver and pliers to straighten *all* the tabs on the mesh so you can remove it (there are ... a lot,) remove the foam and replace the mesh. This will do two things - improve airflow (yes, at the expense of some dust) and make it easier to clean with a vacuum or compressed air. 2. That filter mesh on the bottom doesn't really like staying on. Tape or magnets would be ideal. 3. Once you start adding things, you start running out of cable routing space. Granted, I added multiple drives, but... 4. Find or make a PSU shroud. It'll clean up the look quite a bit. 5. If you DO want to add something like a fan or LED hub... there's no convenient place to put one. The SSD mount in the back is really not designed for this, given its placement. I basically ended up taping one up in the spot for one of the optical drives, which looked ... tacky. Would I still buy this again? Honestly... it depends on the project. Cases have moved forward since this, cable routing (including channels at the back, etc.) and SSD and fan/LED mounting is given more thought these days - but this is still a nice case (with the caveats above) and if you don't mind modding slightly or creating one or two things, or you have a light use case in mind, this will be fine. But seriously... remove the foam.

For it being my first time putting a pc together, this case was easy to install everything. The standoffs were hard to screw in by hand, I had to use a socket wrench to make sure they were in all the way. Cable management wasn’t that big of an issue for me. All of my wires fit comfortably behind the case and motherboard panel. I’ll be adding another fan soon so that’ll be an extra wire back there, but as you can see from the photo I attached I have plenty of space. First photo shows how it looked before I organized the cables, the picture with flash is the completed rig. A few things I liked about this case is the ssd space behind the motherboard, I put my hard drive back there cause it wasn’t as cool as the ssd I have lol so it’s hidden away. If you had a single ssd you can throw it back there and remove the ssd holder tray for an even cleaner look. I personally didn’t have issues with my cables behind the tray like others have mentioned, but I will say there is very little space between the motherboard panel and the back of the tray, it definitely can be an issue for some. The fans run quiet and look really nice. The only con I have is how hard the standoffs were going in, but I assume it’s cause of the coat of black paint on the panel. This isn’t really a con but I’ve had two people comment about the weird placement for the psu. If you don’t like the psu on the bottom of the case you won’t like this case. Overall, great case! I’m happy with my first pc I built and the case I used for it

First, I'm an experienced builder with just under 100 custom computers completed. I bought this believing a few things about the radiator mounting. It's like some smart guys designed this and did a really good job, then some one said how do we reduce cost. Easy, cut materials. How do you do it? You keep the design and cut out the fluff dimensions because every fraction of an inch in cross section cuts out materials. The problem is the accountants cut too much off each dimension of this computer to render some advertised features of mounting cooling solutions inadequate or impossible. Examples of cost cutting dimensional changes in order of complete stupidness: 1. You can't mount a 240mm radiator on top. Period. Why - lots of reasons. The case isn't tall enough, you will hit your motherboard and interfere with memory, power connectors Jeez. Another - you loose the top optical drive because the case IS NOT DEEP enough to mount a 280mm radiator on top without removing the external optial drive cage which is non removable and renders the top 5.25" drive bay useless 2. While we are on the upper cooling mounts. If you have an optical drive in the top location - I do because I need two usable drive bays. You can only mount one top fan. In my case I could only fit a 120mm and not the 140mm quiet fans I intended to use. Again 140mm can't go because it hits the mobo power connectors. 3. Front 280mm radiator required garage logic to fit to actually be useable. If you mount it in the front, the bottom fan is directly in blowing on the solid 3.5: solid drive cage. I had to modify to split my fans between the front bezel and case and the radiator rigged into the back of the fan mount to allow some room for air on the bottom fan. 4. The lower external drive will crush your 24 pin mobo power supply cable. I had to buy 90 degree power connectors and had to fan out the mobo power connector out of the modular sleeve to fit. Again case is 2" too short in depth. 5. Height. You can barely use cut outs for hiding cables for power to the top of the mobo and for connectors on the bottom of mobo. My USB header cable and front Panel pin outs connectors are touching the power supply and 3.5" drive cage. 6. Depth again. some of my modular cables on my EVGA 850 platinum modular supply are almost immediately 90 degree pinched against the drive cage with all the other cables. 7. As others have said, it's a wasted use of usb 2 and 3 headers for only one port on the front. 8. I have never spent so much time training and lacing cables on the backside of the mobo to fit all the cables in. I wound up grabbing my roll of black gorilla tap and having at it training all the cables to reasonably close the side case and have it look good through the window. IT WORKED so it can be done. 1/4" to 1/2" more width behind the mobo and I would have been done two hours earlier and could have used removable zip ties. 9. I initally relocated the two front led cooling fans to the top and back. Washed out LED color on mobo. I had some silent 140's that didn't fit. Found some silent 120's without LEDs that are sweet silent. Note, I may get some RGB 120 silent fans somewhere down the line. Good things to say. 1. It's really nice looking, very nice quality finishes. Yes when all done it looks and feels great. 2. It's more solid than some others have said. Only thing flimsy is the 3.5" drive cage. It is. I used a 3.5 to two 2.5" cage adapters so all was well for my media and backup SSDs. With space for two more and it's still flimsy. 3 If you have a fairly standard build, this is a nice case with limitations. Know what the limitations are and quite frankly I really like it. For an inexperienced builder, prepare to learn and spend extra time and be frustrated.

This is Kevin, spouse of Nancy! This is a low cost, MID TOWER, practical option for a good build. See my last photo of an Amazon product that costs over $150, is the PERFECT case for a high end build. The Fractal case has some of the same qualities for 1/3 the $. The window is NOT Plexiglas, so be careful. The cable space is limited but the right side panel has a good size bulge that accommodated my cables. I am trying to address the (somewhat nitpicky) issues posted before. Please keep in mind I have been an amateur computer builder for over 40 years. I started with MS DOS, then Win 3.1, 95 ect so I have some talents and observations. 1. Not every Amazon product will be in PERFECT order. That’s why we have Prime, if it ain’t right send it back. The stand off screws WERE a problem I simply replaced them all with the ones provided or my own. 2. If a Fractal part failed under warranty it looks like it was replaced quickly So why the 1 star except for frustration. 3. The front cover panel detaches without having connectors attached like some other cheaper cases. 4. There is ample room for a decent power supply. 5. The three fans are good quality white lighted LED’s and have three pin (not 4) MB connectors. 6. The front cover will allow for 2 5.25 inch DVD or other mounts. I have a 2.5 inch slide in SSD/HD mount so I can change OS’s. 7. The base has good dual 5.25 inch mount for 3.5 inch hard drives and removable slide in 2.5 inch brackets (2). All in all it’s a GOOD, not GREAT, case for most builders. I use the Fractal as a back-up for my gaming rig which is a Phanteks Eclipse P600s.
