This is an absolutely amazing upgrade from the HD60 that’s so much easier to set up! I can’t even remember the convoluted process I would go through to stream Animal Crossing off my Switch a few years ago, but it was cumbersome enough I never bothered with it again. Getting this going with my Switch 2 took less than 10 minutes and was a direct hookup. The quality was perfect for streaming Pokemon Pokopia and Legends ZA to friends on Discord. One thing to note there though is currently Discord lacks a native way to flip the webcam image, so it’ll be backward to you although it’s fine to viewers. If you go through OBS Studio (which is free and open source!), that does have a transform horizontal option to fix it. Even though there are some workarounds for the less expensive models, I’m really happy I went for the Elgato 4K X. It worked perfectly with crisp video and audio, and no frustrating troubleshooting needed. Depending on if/how you’re doing voice you may need to adjust your audio setup, but overall this makes streaming really simple. ... show more

So recently I've been slowly buying new items to replace the ones that are more or less showing their age my OLD Elgato was one of those. In fact, Elgato lists my item as a legacy item it's that old, so I decided to get this as an upgrade and OH boy what an upgrade it was. It works much the same as my old one the HDMI from your console goes into the Elgato and an HDMI goes from the Elgato to the TV. The slight difference here is that this connects to your PC via a USB-C connection. While I'm sure you could probably have it go back to a USB port, I haven't tested that idea as of yet. As far as using Elgato's software I don't have much of an opinion on that BUT I will say that using this with OBS software has been great. After getting it all plugged in my OBS read the input no problem and it's like it didn't even miss a bit. Recording with it via OBS has been as good and easy just as my old one just better in quality now. ... show more

The video quality from this capture card is excellent and everything looks crisp and smooth once it’s up and running. It works well for gaming and recording, and I like having the higher resolution and refresh rate options. Getting everything configured correctly took a little more time and troubleshooting than I expected, which kept it from being perfect for me.
