I love this thermal camera -- it is mindlessly easy to use, right out of the box. It has lots of very useful features that work really well -- some of them do require reading the manual, so don't toss it away too quickly. But if you're just looking for hot spots and the like, you can literally just turn the camera on and point it. Build quality seems to be very good; the camera feels sturdy, and nothing that I've seen says "rushed to market" or "could have been thought through a little better." I'd easily buy this again if I needed another one.

This is a great mid-price option. Image is good, temperatures are accurate. Have found this tool to be a great purchase for the price. Battery life is decent. If you are familiar with thermal camera use and function, this unit has a very user friendly interface. Has all functionality of a more expensive option. Being a less expensive option, it does have a little less screen resolution, and does not have a macro function, but you get what you pay for.

The FOXWELL RT280 PRO 640×480 Thermal Camera really impressed me. The image quality is extremely sharp, and the high resolution makes it easy to spot temperature differences that cheaper cameras would completely miss. The clarity is honestly impressive—it’s like switching from standard definition to HD. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the interface is easy to navigate. Within minutes I was using it to scan electrical panels, HVAC components, and areas around the house for heat loss. It’s a great tool for spotting issues early before they become bigger problems. The build quality feels solid and professional, and the screen makes it easy to interpret temperature changes and patterns. It definitely feels like a higher-end diagnostic tool. One thing to note is that there is a slight lag when moving the camera, so you need to move a little slower when scanning areas. Once you get used to that, it’s not a big deal and the accuracy and image quality make up for it. Overall, if you’re doing home inspections, electrical diagnostics, automotive work, energy efficiency checks, or even outdoor use, this camera is a fantastic tool to have. Bottom line: Great resolution, easy to use, and very effective—just move slowly when scanning and it performs beautifully. Highly recommend.

This works much better than I had anticipated. The screen is large and the refresh rate isn’t as laggy as other units. It also allows for selecting colors and it takes decent pictures with date and time. It’s well built and can be used for any type of inspection
