  • Lots of options for cars
My grandson can be very picky, but every time he plays this game, he finds something else he likes about it. He sai it is far beyond most games which are all basically alike. Hard to get bored because of all the options in cars and locales.

  • No directions.
I am finding that most racing simulations do not include a brief but helpful overview of the game progression and how you progress, what to avoid etc. These games are good simulations but force you to figure the gameplay out for yourself.

  • Mid Game
After seeing the trailer for the new Forza Horizon game, I decided to finally dip my toes into the Forza Horizon series. Bought this game for my Xbox Series X. First problem was the download, 78+ GB for this thing! When it finally downloaded, I was only able to get past the tutorial before I came face to face with the now infamous "infinite loading screen glitch". Tried deleting and reinstalling, restarting the console, and many other things to fix it -- nothing worked. At the time of writing this, the developers have still not addressed this issue. I had to redownload the game again on my console to get it to work. As for the game, this is hands down one of the absolute most gorgeous games I’ve seen. Graphics and GUI look amazing and each piece of the map is very polished and stylish. The problem though is the gameplay. I’ve played several racing games before and this one has the worst drift out of them all. Even a game from 2001 has a better drift than this game. The drift is barely functional. 90% of the time you either smash into the wall while trying to do a drift or completely get spun around. In a competitive driving game, I’d at least think the drifting would be functional. And yes, I’ve won plenty of races without drifting but if you wanna play more competitive races you’re going to have to attempt to master this terrible mechanic. The many types of races that you do that are supposed to be “unique” is the same race you did last time just with different backgrounds ; it’s lazy. Another terribly done mechanic in this game is car stats. At the beginning of the game, I saved up my credits and bought a 100k car, expecting it to be mildly better than the starter car, yet I found myself using the starter car more than the one I saved up for because while the speed was better on the 100k one, the starter car was way more reliable in terms of handling and traction then what I assumed was an upgrade. What’s the point of upgrading when the car you just had does better than the new one you bought? Makes absolutely no sense. I’ll change my rating to at least 3 stars since I find it fun to just drive around, but if you’re looking for a competitive driving game, this isn’t it. ... show more
