The red one worked exactly as described from the get-go. The blue one had some issues in a room with a ceiling around 9 feet high. It would rise to the ceiling and bump itself against the ceiling until it finally got tired of that at which time it would dive bomb to the floor. Once we moved it to a room with a cathedral ceiling, it functioned exactly as it should. They were a lot of fun for adults and kids alike. Would recommend them. My son received these for Christmas and they were a big hit... for everyone! The 13 and 10 year old girls liked them. My husband and I liked them. Even Grandpa and the teenagers thought they were cool. The dog... well, she's not sure. She either barks at them, avoids them or tries to lick the air when they get near her. The charge doesn't last too long, but they hover really nicely, moving around the room and objects for the most part on their own. You can get them to change direction by holding your hand close without actual touching. They crash sometimes but seem to be very durable. Even my friend's 5 year old was throwing them into the air and they would just start spinning and hovering. Overall very fun! ... show more

This is the cutest toy. Bought the first set for my grandsons ages 7 and 10. One of the drones had a motor that did not operate properly. It was returned and a second set ordered. The second set lasted a very short time even though it was not being used improperly. One of the fans came loose so the unit could not fly. It is a very cute toy and looks like a lot of fun. Sadly it is very cheaply made and does not hold up. The owner of the toy store responded to my earlier review and worked hard to “make it right.” A new set along with extra blades was sent to my grandsons, and, so far the product is working. So impressed with the supplier to correct the problem. My grandsons love the drones and are having fun playing with them. ... show more

I bought the set that comes with two of these—one for each of my children. After calibrating both, the blue unit works fine but the red unit does not. We repeatedly recalibrated it and replaced the propellers, but it still fails to function. It’s clearly defective right out of the box. Let me just say that if you read and follow the directions the device works exactly as it should. It will fly and avoid things. The problem, and reason why I can't recommend it is because of the very short battery life. You will probably get about 10-20 min of play before the battery runs out. Which I guess is fine but ultimately this, paired with lack luster durability makes this a very short lived device. My 8 year old did chase them into walls and things but nothing that I would consider egregious destructive behavior. After 2 cycles of charge, play and recharge 2 of the 4 propellers no longer spun. This essentially renders the device inoperable lacking the power to lift it self up well nor if it did able to stabilize itself. Maybe my unit was defective but your mileage may vary. (Update : the company reached out to me and was extremely lovely. I am a sucker for good customer service so I wanted to give an update. The model I got was maybe a lemon and they tried their best to make it right. My review of the product is still the same but this company specifically I would recommend buying from, definitely.) ... show more
