  • update review - now installed
I bought these rails for my 2017 CR-V. I would say they are a 5 on a degree of difficulty scale of 1-10. That is mainly because the lack of installation instructions and part diagram that didn't come with the product. I recommend watching the few videos that are out there on installing roof rails just to get an idea. I requested a video link from the seller on these exact rails installation. The video they provided showed two guys installing, but no talking or communication what so ever. And to top it off it looked like they removed the trim piece completely from the roof. And they had these black (what looked like rubber) mats that sat under the mounting points. These did not come with the product I ordered. My advice is to measure and dry fit the rails on before cutting any trim. If you watch or see directions for the OEM Honda rails install they say to measure back four inches on the trim from the windshield. That does not work for these rails. If you do that it will leave the trim track exposed because these rails do not go as far forward as the OEM do. I measured and cut all most all the way to the first mounting bolt. I then cut the trim and reused the trim clips to fill the trim track between the mounting points so the track was not exposed. It looks nice. One issue I had is the caps provided to cover the holes on top of the rails are delicate little flowers and will break if pressed to hard. I am going to ask the seller to send me extras if possible. All in all the experience was worth it. The rails did come dented and scared up a little. But it's on the side that's facing in so not visible to anyone. The cross rails worked great. My advice is to measure, measure, measure, dry fit and then make your cuts. I hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • Great price, fairly easy install
Color: All black
The initial reviews I reviewed were cause for some concern, especially the ones that said there were no instructions. However, once I opened the box, the instructions for the rails install and the crossbars install were both there. The hardest part about installing these is the removal and cutting of the factory rail covers. Popping the rail covers is fairly easy but getting the last couple loose proved to be a challenge. You don’t want to damage or destroy the trim beyond the windshield mark or else you’ll be left with visible dings/damage. I did ok, but I can see where they bent from me trying to pop them off the clip. Not horrible though. Don’t try and take off the rear odd-shaped rail cover. It’s unnecessary. Just use a trim tool to lift the normal, 1” rail cover and then pull it out of the oblong plastic rear rail cover. Totally unnecessary to remove that rear one. Google videos on installing this. It’ll make your life a ton easier. Also, don’t go out and buy a sawzall saw or air saw. You don’t need it if you have a regular ole hacksaw or dremel. Just be sure to cover the vehicle with a thick towel or cardboard to protect it from when you cut the rail covers. After that, the install of the new rails and crossbars is easy. Assemble the cross rails before you put them on the rails so you can tighten the screws on the underside. If you don’t have a right angle screwdriver or ratchet that has a Phillips head attachment, you would be best-served to go get one. It comes in handy when tightening the cross rail screws on the underside if you put them on loosely, as I did, to ensure proper fit. Looks great and is very sturdy after install. • Raised Rails with Adjustable Cross Bars
The 2019 CRV I have was built without roof rails - it just had the flush molding going from front to back. I shopped for rails with adjustable cross bars, a hard thing to find. Then I came across this product, or rather, this SET of products - there's 10 of them. I saw conflicting answers in the Q&A section regarding whether the cross bars were adjustable or not. As it turns out, both answers are correct. Most of the cross bars are mounted at a fixed point that can't be adjusted, but 1 set of cross bars are clamp on and can be adjusted. But they can only be mounted onto raised rails. I bought the "Sliver" rails (yes it says "SLIVER" when you mouse over the product picture in the lineup of product options. I paired with those rails the "CLICK TO SELECT WITH RAISED RAILS" cross bars - yep. The products shipped together direct from China via FEDEX and came in about 5 days. I mounted them the next day. The GOOD - the aluminum on the rails are well made and attractive, the cross bars are good looking and solid. When I was done I gave them a good tug and there was no give. The BAD - there were no instructions at all, the rails weren't marked left or right or which end was front or back, the quality of the plastic mounting blocks for the rails was lacking - they looked sloppy, and the plugs to cover the rail mounting screws are stick on - I haven't bothered with them yet. When I started I put the wrong rail on the wrong side which looked awful - I was ready to return them. Then I tried the other rail and that looked a lot better. When I was done, I was quite happy. Best of luck to all that try these products. ... show more

  • Good quality.
These rails and crossbars are decently made for the price. They're strong and the finish is nice. The "fit" has some room for improvement - don't get me wrong here - they will go on, but they're not precise. Installation isn't bad ... may be frustrating at first, but if you had to install 5 of them, you would think the 4th through 5th were easy. Unbelievable that there are no instructions included - and the seller/manufacturer referred me to some guy's youtube video, which helped, but is pretty bad. I had to use a rotary tool to clean up some of the burrs around drilled holes (watch your fingers), and one of my crossbars was drilled so far off I had to ask for a replacement - which the seller sent promptly without any hassle. The replacement bar worked perfectly. All-in-all, I'm happy with them. Hauling 13' ocean kayaks on them just fine. ... show more
