  • These are reliable and easy to use. The best.
Model: for sony
I own a few versions of this very same intervalometer, Sony, Nikon and Canon. All three work exactly the same. All three are the best I've ever owned. They are simple to setup and run. All three reviews are the same, unless there is a difference in hardware among them. This review is for the Sony version. Please see the included photos for the cables that are included. Comes with 2 different connectors for Sony cameras. Your camera likely uses one of these. If you need a reliable method of controlling your camera for still photography, this is a great choice. It's simple but very effective. It can do simple things through to complex timelapse sessions. I'm a timelapse fan myself. It's a large portion of my travel images. This will make it much easier and has been very reliable so far. Not a single missed shot or any signs of failure. It has truly been a joy to use. I have some other intervalometers which are more complicated to setup. I do like the way this particular unit is setup. Easy for me. The quality of these seems to be a very good plastic composition. The rounded edges helps to keep it pocketable and comfortable. The pebble vibe is on point. I like it. The internal battery is also a usability improvement. Not that a AAA battery is hard to find. It's just the USBC has become so easy to use. I can charge these from my phone if I choose. That's cool. Note: charging from your phone is not intended. I was just illustrating the ubiquity of the standard. This also comes with another, equally frustrating fact, the battery will die one day. Will this unit become useless when that happens? Most likely. As hard as it is to admit, I'm ok with that. I'll bet it will last quite a few years and the convenience is worth it to me. The price is a little higher than the bargain basement models. That said, I would still choose this one. What can I say, I'm a fan. It's really simple to use and works every time. What's not to like? I have confidence in this product while using it. Priced very fairly and even competitively for a well designed and reliable tool. ... show more

  • Remote trigger works perfectly for Nikon D850 Remote trigger works perfectly for Nikon D850
Model: for nikon
I got this remote shutter release for my Nikon D850 and it functions perfectly with the camera. It is fully compatible with my Nikon. There are a couple of components. First, there’s the trigger itself. It comes with a removable cable that you plug into the trigger and then into the port on the camera as shown in my photo. The trigger acts just like your shutter button. Press it halfway to focus, then depress fully to take the photo. Or if you use back button focus, you would focus it first on the camera, then use the trigger just to release the shutter. It is very simple to use and is just as simple as it sounds. This is great for when you don’t want to bump the camera but are standing next to it. Then to take a photo from a larger distance away, such as if you wanted to take a group shot including yourself while the camera is on a tripod, you would add in the wireless remote trigger. It basically communicates with the shutter release that is physically attached into the camera. You would attach the shutter release to the camera using the hot shoe attachment that is integrated into it, so that it is securely attached to the camera and then connected via its cable. To take a photo, you press the trigger on the remote unit, which sends a signal to the unit attached to the camera, which triggers the shutter release on the camera. Again, simple! The other cool thing is that the wireless remote trigger can be programmed to take shots at various time intervals. So for example, if you wanted to create a time lapse video comprised of multiple exposures, you could set it to take pictures every minute and it would do that. Most cameras, including my D850, have that functionality built-in, but this trigger allows you to add that functionality if your camera doesn’t have it. Both devices have built-in batteries that can be recharged via USB with the included cable or with one you probably already have, since it is today’s standard of USB-C. Both the wireless trigger and the remote trigger are made of a solid plastic, and it feels durable enough to use for repeated professional shoots as long as you don’t drop them on the concrete! Also helpful there are the included lanyards that attach to each device to make sure you don’t drop them. Overall, this is a great unit for anyone who needs a remote trigger with the enhanced functionality of a timer and intervalometer. ... show more

  • Very useful for certain types of photography and for more creative control.
Model: for sony
This Wireless Intervalometer Remote Control is a rechargeable shutter release system designed for Sony cameras that support remote triggering. It includes both a handheld transmitter and receiver, allowing wireless control for long exposures, time-lapse photography, interval shooting, and standard shutter release. It’s compatible with many Sony models, including the Sony ZV-E10 II, A7 IV, A7R V, A9 III, A7S III, A6600, A6500, ZV-1, and RX100 VII. Build Quality and Design The transmitter and receiver feel lightweight but well assembled. The buttons have a firm tactile response, and the LCD display on the transmitter is clear and easy to read. The rechargeable battery is a welcome upgrade over older intervalometers that rely on AAA batteries, and charging via USB-C is convenient if you already carry other camera gear that uses the same cable. Setup and Compatibility Setup is straightforward. The receiver connects to the camera’s remote port and pairs quickly with the transmitter. Once paired, the connection remained stable during my testing. It worked properly with Sony cameras that support remote shutter functionality, and the wireless range was more than sufficient for typical tripod or time-lapse setups. Features and Functionality The intervalometer functions are the main reason to get this device. You can configure delay start, exposure time, interval between shots, and total number of shots for time-lapse photography. The interface allows you to easily dial in settings without needing to navigate complicated menus on the camera itself. The remote also works well as a standard wireless shutter release, which helps reduce camera shake during long exposures or telephoto shooting. Having both single-shot and timed shooting modes makes it versatile for landscape photography, astrophotography, and long-exposure scenes. Performance In practice, the remote performed reliably. The wireless trigger response was quick, and the interval timing remained consistent during time-lapse tests. The rechargeable battery lasted through multiple sessions without needing a recharge, which is useful when shooting overnight sequences. Things to Consider - The menu system requires a short learning curve if you have never used an intervalometer before. - The receiver does add a small accessory to the camera body, which may matter if you prefer a very minimal setup. Final Thoughts Its a useful tool for Sony photographers seeking better control over time-lapse and long-exposure shots. The rechargeable design, reliable wireless connection, and flexible timing controls make it a useful addition to a camera kit. ... show more

  • Works great as an interval timer, long exposure, astro photography tool Works great as an interval timer, long exposure, astro photography tool
Model: for canon
Maybe a 4.5 would be more appropriate. It does work but some of the labels are confusing. In order for this to work on my Canon 5Dmk4, I had to set the "long" to 0. Else it would take multiple shots during 1 interval. Maybe there's a communication issue with the 5Dmk4. I have a 70D and I think it works a little differently. Regardless I did get it to work, and it worked GREAT. Took a 1 second exposure (set on camera) every 5 seconds for 100 shots. I was able to put 100 frames into a 30 fps 4K video. Nice. This is the kind of thing I want to do when I take it to a National Park or a Dark Sky area. The only other thing I think would round it out is if it came with some kind of pouch. I'm sure you can find something here on Amazon. As it is, you have several loose items you need to carry around somehow - don't lose a cable! Also the hotshoe mount is very tight. I actually had some trouble getting it off. It's made of plastic so I am sure this will break in. All in all, simple and useful but I recommend trying it and figuring it out before needing to use it. Does what it's supposed to and I know it works for at least both of my Canons but the configs may differ slightly. It's light and easy to use and comes with 2 lanyards. Not sure how long the battery lasts but I charged it like 3 weeks ago and just got around to testing it and it didn't run out. ... show more

This is a wonderful, easy-to-use and versatile way to realize the full potential of tripod and other camera mounts. Just attach the receiver unit of this product to the camera and use the transmitter unit of this product to trigger the shutter. • Easy, simple, rechargeable solution to remote camera operation!
Model: for nikon
I very simple but effective remote for your shutter. Its easy to use, easy to set up, its rechargeable so you don't need to find and keep weird batteries on hand. you simply charge it, set it up and use it. Its analog and old school so its very simple to use. At just $50 its a great price point for what it does. Its claims to work up to 60 meters away which is very far, but that tells me the signal should be very robust in actually used ranges. Very happy with it and it works great. ... show more

  • A great backup option
Model: for nikon
I got this as a backup for my regular Nikon remote. It does add a little bit of weight to the top of the camera, but it’s not that noticeable. I haven’t used it a ton, but it definitely works pretty well. Obviously it doesn’t work if you have a big flash. It’s a little bit bulky, but it’s definitely serviceable. It works with my Nikon pretty well. Connecting it and setting it up was a breeze. It’s definitely great as a backup for your normal Bluetooth shutter release. ... show more
