Great price and seal great

  • Hold up great and are reusable
The media could not be loaded. I pretty much vacuum seal everything I can, from an opened bag of walnuts, to garlic, fresh herbs ( with a moist papertown), chopped onions, homemade desserts for freezing. I buy bacon from a local butcher and it has no preservatives added. I line up bacon strips on my bacon pan then wrap them in parchment paper and vacuum seal them. I get 2-3 weeks of freshness in the fridge and my husband loves having each pan pre-measured for him. Anything I don’t use I throw in the freezer and bring a bacon snob he can’t tell any difference in taste once defrosted. I used to keep my food saver in the garage but once I started cooking with fresh ingredients I realized that if I don’t keep it out I’m too lazy to grab it. I even creamed corn from my garden and put 1 cup servings in a ziplock bag then a vacuum sealer bag. They’ve frozen wonderfully. Corn on the cob, frozen. Zucchini, just used a vegetable peeler and removed down to the seeds, chopped and froze for zucchini bread all winter. As you can see in my video I hand wash my bags and put them on a retractable cup drying rack I purchased on Amazon for $18. It’s a set of two from the marbrasse store. I’m able to dry all my bags on it as well as mason jars and their lids. I typically fill the bag with soapy water and lay it in a glass bowl so that it doesn’t tip over and allows it to soak. Then put it on the rack to dry. The bags that are really long take longer to dry. I never throw the bags away until it’s too short to work in the machine. As it gets cut and shorter I use it for basil leaves, thyme and garlic. But it’s best to put them in a ziplock bag first. I’ve even got my large sams club yeast in a bag in the fridge and Extra sugar that didn’t fit in my sugar container. Brown sugar, rice, the list is endless. Since all the kids are grown and moved out I still buy bulk for some staples and they last longer sealed properly. ... show more

  • Nice compact sealer
Nice little compact sealer. So far so good, and customer service is nice to have.

  • Update
I have a Food Saver machine. I also have the food saver bags. They are great. I thought I'd try the cheaper ones, but that was not smart. I sealed some fresh carrots and when I went back to use them, the bag had air and moisture in it. Needless to say, they were soft and I had to discard them. I also vacuum sealed some shredded cabbage and that also had to be thrown out. I also vacuum sealed a block of cheese, but I got that just in time..I resealed it in the food saver bag. I guess you get what you pay for, so I will spend the extra cash. The food I got rid of is more than the extra cost of the food saver bags. Lesson learned: spend the extra money 💰💰💰 I tried using the bags once more and I realized that I was not sealing them properly. Still not as good as the Food Saver bags, but better than what I first said. Just make sure the bags are properly sealed. ... show more

  • Works pretty well
Works well for most meats but I find many meats are too wet and too much moisture makes it unable to seal and function. I don't think that is a flaw with the machine but does make it more limited in use than I hoped.

  • Easy to use
It is very easy to use. I like the wet and dry feature; if I want to freeze some marinara sauce, I don't have to worry about making a mess. I also like the attachment for sucking air out of containers. It sure saves from food waste.
