Based on prior reviews I read, upon arrival I figured this item was going to be returned to Amazon due to the condition of the box during shipping. This item took a pretty good drop based on a corner of the box being smashed in. The side of the box had a massive gouge, probably 7 inches long by 3 inches high, where if you pushed it you could see inside of the box. Yet, when I opened it, removed the dehydrator, there was zero damage to the unit due to the Styrofoam protection. I ran the unit empty for the 30 minutes recommended in the user manual with zero issues. Then spent the next 10 hours making some delicious beef jerky. It ran flawlessly, and as quiet as a very small fan running. With my old dehydrator, we had to turn up the tv volume because of the noise it produced. I do a lot of dehydrating, so I'll update this review if anything goes south, but as for now, I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Easy to use… follow the instructions and you’ll be good. It’s quiet and doesn’t get hot… so far I’ve made chicken jerky treats for the dog. Made them for 80% less than buying at the store.

I am super new to dehydrating food and I have honestly only successfully done it a few times. It’s just so expensive to keep buying prepackaged bags of store bought dehydrated fruits for my kids as snacks so I wanted to give it a go myself. This has perfect shelving for maybe different fruits at the same time. I love that it comes with a fruit roll sheet so I can do fruit roll ups!! It is generally easy to use and understand how to adjust the settings and set it up I just might need a few more YouTube videos to perfect my recipes. It does come with its own recipe booklet but my kiddos prefer the store kind for now so I’ll have to keep trying other mixes. I do love that it has an automatic shut off so I can set it and forget it. It’s just as easy as my crock pot for this busy mom!
