I am writing this review to share my personal experience after using the Septree food dehydrator machine for the past 30 days. This food dehydrator machine can be used to make beef jerky, kale chips, turkey jerky, mushroom chips, carrot chips, apple chips, beet chips, banana chips, dried cherry snacks, eggplant chips, apricot chips, fruit leather, and many other dried fruit snacks. However, I have mainly been using my food dehydrator machine to make beef jerky, apple chips, apricot chips, banana chips, dried mushroom snacks, cabbage chips, and chocolate chip cookies. Besides, being able to make beef jerky, dried fruit snacks, chocolate chip cookies, and veggie chips. You can use this food dehydrator machine to make fruit roll sheets, dog biscuits and other pet treats, and even dehydrate herbs, flowers, maple syrup, molasses and barbecue sauce in case you need to free up storage space and make them last longer in your pantry. My food dehydrator machine came with eight stainless-steel drying trays and four non-stick sheets and because I try to make enough beef jerky, banana chips, apple chips, apricot chips, and cabbage chips to enjoy eating them throughout the entire week; I end up using all the eight stainless-steel drying trays as well as, the four non-stick sheets when I make beef jerky, fruit snacks, and veggie chips in my house. I just avoid putting beef jerky and fruit slices to dry together at the same time inside the food dehydrator machine. And I do not recommend cooking beef jerky with banana chips, apple chips, apricot chips, or chocolate chip cookies at the same time because this food dehydrator machine has a strong heating fan that can cook up to 190ยฐ Fahrenheit. Additionally, the dehydrator machine has 800W rated power, the fan is strong and keeps the hot air-flow circulating during the entire cooking time so, to make sure that the aroma from the spices, the onion, and garlic from the beef jerky do not get transferred to the fruit slices or to my chocolate chip cookies, I avoid putting them to cook together at all costs to don't compromise their taste. Even though this food dehydrator machine is quite straightforward and simple to use; it came with a user manual, a recipe book, and two storage containers that you can use to store some homemade snacks. The food dehydrator machine also came with one drip tray. So, after you finished using the food dehydrator machine, you can easily remove the drip tray, wash it, and keep your dehydrator machine clean. It also came a pair of silicone gloves that you can use to safely remove the hot stainless-steel trays from the food dehydrator machine without burning your hands. I like the fact that my food dehydrator machine came with all these very useful accessories. And although, I have used my food dehydrator to make a couple of different snacks. So far, my favorite things to do with my food dehydrator machine are some delicious beef jerky slices and some colorful and healthy fruit treats. It even became part of my routine now, every Saturday morning, I go to the local butcher where I buy my meat and ask the butcher to give me a couple pounds of thinly sliced top round grass fed cow beef to make beef jerky in my food dehydrator machine. And I recommend to you guys if you are looking into buying a food dehydrator machine to make your own beef jerky at home, get some top round beef because of the shape of the muscle, the butcher can make some beautiful wide thin marble slices to you. Before I place the beef slices on top of the stainless-steel sheets that came with the food dehydrator, I first marinate the beef using some soy sauce, some Worcestershire sauce, some garlic powder without salt, freshly ground black pepper, a little bit of cayenne pepper, some onion powder without salt, a little bit of smoked paprika for a subtle smokiness flavor, some red chili flakes, and a little bit of honey just to balance the salt from the soy sauce and the Worcestershire sauce with the heat from the spices. And I am glad that these drying trays are made with 304 food-grade stainless steel and are dishwasher safe; because I usually leave these trays a little bit dirty after making my homemade beef jerky. However, I simply put the stainless-steel trays to wash on the top rack of my dishwasher and remove the trays from the dishwasher right before the drying cycle starts and the trays come out completely clean! As long I put the trays to wash as soon I am done cooking on the trays. Nobody can even imagine that prior to placing the trays to wash; the trays had some stain on them from the paprika and the sauce itself that got incorporated into the beef jerky slices. So, I can leave the beef slices marinating in the sauce for about four hours inside the fridge. Once the four hours have passed, I remove the excess of sauce from the beef slices using some paper towels, then I place the four non-stick sheets on top of four stainless-steel drying trays. And I love these non-stick sheets because they do a great job preventing the food from getting stuck on the drying trays and I really wish the food dehydrator machine would come with even more non-stick sheets but, I highly appreciate all these useful accessories that came with my food dehydrator machine. I arrange the beef slices over the stainless-steel trays like a jerk saw puzzle without leaving a single slice overlap on top of the other and I will tell you the two reasons why you do NOT need to rush things and try to make all your beef slices fit in one batch leaving them overlap on top of each other. First, this food dehydrator machine has 800W power like I mention before, it can cook up to 190ยฐF, and the fan is pretty strong; and if you stop to watch while the food is getting dehydrated and being cooked, you will see that the fan keeps the hot air circulating during the entire time. Second, because this food dehydrator machine has a strong fan, the trays with beef jerky get done fast. And once I finish cooking one batch, I just put my silicone gloves on and remove the hot trays with beef jerky out. Then, I place the beef jerky on a big and clean plate. And start arranging the second batch placing more beef slices on the stainless-steel trays and put them to cook in my food dehydrator machine. Doing this way, I can make a very decent amount of beef jerky slices for me and my husband because they do not take too long to cook on this food dehydrator machine. And by making two batches of beef jerky on the same day and I have enough beef jerky to snack on during the week. Has one more detail that I need to share about my personal experience using this food dehydrator machine. Even though this food dehydrator machine has overheat protection and it will get activated as soon the dehydrator starts overheating, I still could not stop overthinking. So, on my very first time using this food dehydrator machine to make beef jerky, I literally stayed watching the beef slices get cooked the entire time because I thought that the beef slices could burn or get overcooked and turn out way too dry or maybe taste like burning meat or charcoal. However, I can confidently tell you that my homemade beef jerky slices turned out nicely done, each slice got a beautiful color from all the seasonings and sauce that got incorporated on the beef slices while I left them marinating in the fridge and I am happy to say that this food dehydrator machine cooked just right on all sides, and my homemade beef jerky snacks not only looked pretty good but they also tasted delicious. Now that I am more confident about using this food dehydrator machine, I started to explore a little more and made some delicious, colorful, and healthy fruit treats, veggie chips, and chocolate chip cookies. But, instead of watching them cook the whole time, I just set the required timer, leave them cook and remove them once the time finished. I donโt want to take too much of your time but, I still want to share here a few things that I have learned while I was making some dried fruit snacks in my food dehydrator machine. Whatever you decide to make in the food dehydrator machine, preparation is everything. So, make sure you slice the foods evenly whether they are strawberries, or bananas, apples, carrots, or meat, just try your best to make slices of similar sizes. Because when I made some banana chips, apricot chips, and apple chips for the first time in my food dehydrator machine, since I had to cut them myself and not the butcher, I did not exactly aim to get pieces of similar sizes. As a result, I ended up with some uneven proportions, then instead of fixing them to get similar size pieces, I decided to just put the fruit slices to dry and set the timer. Once the time finished, I removed the dried fruit snacks that I made and 90% of the slices got perfectly dry and crispy, exactly like the fruit snacks that I used to buy already made with the difference that the banana chips, the apple chips, and apricot chips that I made in this food dehydrator machine were fresh! While 10% of the slices, more specifically the big pieces of fruit that I cut were not fully dry. So, I placed these few big pieces right back in the food dehydrator machine and let them drying for a few minutes more. Then I got my homemade fruit chips all crispy and tasting pretty good. Now the bananas, my banana slices change color, they got darker, so one more thing that I tried. I soaked the banana slices into a little bit of lemon juice, then I dried the banana slices with paper towels and put the banana slices on the drying racks, and the banana did not got all dark like the banana slices I have previously made. Therefore, just in case you will use the food dehydrator machine to make fruit chips, vegetable snacks, or dried meat slices, soak some fruit slices that have the tendency to change colors into lemon juice just to keep their color more consistent, and try cutting fruit and vegetables into slices that are ยฝ inch thick and cut your meat in thinner slices of similar sizes, this way, all your food dehydrates at the same time and gets evenly cooked on all sides. This is the best dehydrator I have ever owned. It has 10 shelves making more than you'll ever need. A couple buttons and you control the temp and time. Shuts itself down. Add time. Adjust heat anytime during the cycle as well. Hard to beat at any price. much less the bargain it is,. Buy it. You will love its... BTW you need to put this in the utility room as it has a great flow of heat and air circulating and venting. It will warm up the area it is placed. The flavorful smell will attract the nibblers!

I've researched these for a while now so I pulled the trigger on it about a month ago. Since then I've made about 10 batches of several flavors of jerky. With a little trial & error, I've dialed it into about 3 hours for the perfect texture. This is the first review I've ever written.
