They are not flimsy and are pretty thick, not like the cheap ones you get to start your seeds. They are small so you will have to pot up as soon as your plants get bigger. Made seed starting easy. Clear to keep and eye on moisture and root development. Comes with lid and drainage basin. As for the lids, forget it. Get tap and tape the lids down. With a top vent, no need to open until sprouting anyway. Just vent 5-10 mins a day to prevent mold and your solid. 5 stars for description, clarity, and usability. These trays sprouted my vegetable seeds in a couple days, so no complaints there. When I went to transfer them to larger pots is where I was a little dissatisfied. The pods are a little small so it was somewhat difficult to get the plants out with all the dirt and several of the plants pulled out of the dirt. Please shut up is absolutely perfect for growing out alocasia corms. There is a little tiny drainage hole in each of the cells which makes things very efficient. It gives me the option to bottom water all of them instead of having to individually top water each cell.
