  • Great controller, needs a little cheap fix for the bottom back buttons
Ok so I only have about 6 hours on the new controller, but I have thousands on the Vader 3 and 4 so I know these pretty well. I wanted to give first impressions so far. One the new software is very good and way better than the old one, a lot less bugginess. I wasn't getting buttons rendered useless while switching button binds mid play which happens almost every time on the previous software which is highly annoying. Also you can macro more than 4 buttons, which the old ones limited you to. Supposedly you can bind keys from the keyboard to a button but haven't tried it yet. The thumb sticks are actually Xbox sized so you can use Kontrol Freak or other Xbox stick toppers on them unlike the old Vader's were a random sized thumb stick. The buttons feel very nice and quiet but still the mechanical click. The triggers are great and the flydigi short click is the best I've ever used, it is a literal mouse click. The built in tension adjuster for the stick are nice for on the fly adjustment and the hall effect sticks are very responsive and should never drift especially the flydigi specially designed ones they use. They changed the back paddles which I am still getting used to from the Vader 3 and 4. They are more similarly shaped now to a Razer or Elite 2. The bottom buttons are hidden in the packaging and not attached from the factory so do not throw out the packaging until you dig them out of the clamshell. Now supposedly there has been issues with the bottom paddles over flexing and breaking the internal pivot point, I have ordered 2mm cabinet bumpers to put behind them as a stopper, this supposedly fixes the issue. Just order 6 or 8x2mm cabinet bumpers it's like 4 bucks for a 100 of them. Hopefully flydigi will release a better button to replace these or someone can create a 3d printed version that fixes the problems. The extra top buttons are killer, much like most of the Razer Wolverines pro lines throughout the years, I always thought that was an excellent place for extra buttons and they copied Razer perfectly. I think flydigi makes one of if not the best controllers on the market right now and especially at this price point you will not beat it. If you are looking at this just buy it because you obviously need a new a controller! ... show more

  • This is the one!
This is the one. Tension rings for joysticks - Last model might have had a slight issue, but they must have redesigned it because over 4 hours of battlefield they didn’t budge. Feel - materials feel premium and the size feels perfect in my hands. The weight is balanced perfectly so it makes sense why they went with the battery size they did. Back paddles and additional buttons - this and only a few others offer 6 additional remappable buttons. Software works perfect so I had no issues there. It’s too early for me to see if I’ll experience the broken paddle button button, but I only use 2 anyway, but if I do I’ll just stick on the cabinet bumpers. I think if you’re looking at this controller I would seriously ask yourself if that’s a deal breaker because the rest of this controller is fantastic. What I like -Buttons have satisfying clicky mechanical feel -Tension adjustment -Ergonomics and button placement feels natural -Amazing joysticks -Price, this thing competes with much more expensive controllers in its class What I don’t -I would like the ability to map more than one keypress to button remap. I use the c and z buttons to record game clips and the mute my mic. Unfortunately you’re limited to one key so not alt + c or shift button mapping. Maybe they can add that to the software. -Permanent solution to back paddle issue. Flydigi just need to acknowledge it and tell us they’re working on a fix. They just need to redesign the shape of the paddle, not a big deal. Overall this controller is a 9.5 out of 10. A solid modern gaming peripheral for a great price. This beat the G7 just for the fact you have better better joysticks, more buttons, and better build quality. Yes, I said better joysticks. Halle are still great people, but these are custom halls build by them. They’re designed and tuned in house and they feel incredible. Sometimes newer isn’t always better and chasing the 8k polling or TMR trend might help move units, they are largely marketing. Might as well start slapping Ai on controllers, oh wait… ... show more

  • A controller with nice features and performance
The FLYDIGI Vader 5 Pro is an excellent PC controller and has quickly become one of my favorite controllers for gaming. It feels comfortable in the hands, has a solid build quality, and the buttons and joysticks are incredibly responsive and precise. The joystick control is especially impressive for games that require accurate aiming and movement, while the extra buttons and customization options add even more versatility. It also feels great during longer gaming sessions, with a comfortable layout and satisfying button feedback. Overall, the Vader 5 Pro delivers excellent performance, customization, and value for PC gaming, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-performance controller. ... show more

  • Best Controller in the Market
Off the bat, this thing feels clean. The grips are subtle. The hall-effect joysticks glide. The buttons on this thing are clicky which I love. Makes me consider getting clicky for my keyboard. The triggers can be set to the classic linear or clicky which I thought was the coolest feature. Linear for single-player, clicky for shooters. Vibration is in-depth. The adjustable tension is a must need in modern controllers. Has bluetooth, usb, and wired. Only gripes is that the accent color is like a copper of sorts and there are no other variants rn but hey. Being a playstation player, it takes a little to get use to(worth though) Also the software(Spacestation) is kinda mid. I'm gonna go out and say Flydigi has the best controllers in the market rn. 100% worth the price. ... show more

  • controller good, actually
I've only had the controller for a month, so don't consider this a long term review. The software is easy to use, the main buttons feel pretty good, the sticks are nice, I like the ability to adjust the tension on them. Lots of extra buttons to keybind things too which I like, and also it connects instantly to its 2.4GHz dongle. I saw a review that said the dpad was mid tier but I think that's crazy? It's really good for fighting game inputs. Maybe it's not as great for certain types of platformers, but so far I've got nothing but praise for it. No complaints so far. The only other test really is its long term durability, but so far, perfect score. ... show more

  • Best controller I've ever had.
Really good controller, best I've had in my life. Feels super premium, good ergonomics, extra vibration in triggers is cool(although not as big a difference as I was expecting and also can only really feel it when you have the triggers set to full motion not when you lock them out.) Also the tensioning ring does make a difference but not as much as I was expecting. Either way even without the added trigger vibrations or tensioning rings this controller is still the best I've ever had and definitely worth a purchase if you can afford it. Until now I would say the 8bitdo wireless 2 was my best controller. This feels better for sure. ... show more

  • Great controller, sketchy software, extra buttons useless
While a decent and good feeling controller, I can't really recommend it. The main issues I have stem from when I first got it and it had a problem locking up- Id move the right stick and the input would just continously spin my character and I had no way to stop it, even if I turned off the controller. I found this was a common issue and needed to install a firmware update to fix it (really?). So I installed the Flydigi software, which looked unbelievably sketchy and nothing was in English. I uninstalled that quickly and ran a few virus scans, finding nothing. Still I wasnt comfortable downloading it again. I had a spare laptop I dont use I was able to get it installed onto and get the drivers updated (overall still very sketch) and then promptly uninstalled again and ran more virus scans. The real kicker was when I found I had to do some bs configuration in the same software to get the extra buttons on the controller to work (like the 3rd buttons on the triggers and buttons/ paddles on the back). Why don't they work out of the box? Thats just pathetic. Negativity aside though, the controller did feel nice and I did like using it once it was working properly. I liked the thumb stick adjustments, adjustable triggers, and tactile buttons. But you can't pay me to download that software again. ... show more

  • Great Controller overall once the setup is done.
So far I really like the controller. It feels great in your hand if you're used to an Xbox controller. Swapping profiles is easy although being a lefty makes it a slightly less smooth experience. Great clicks and responsiveness. No issues with stick drift so far. You're able to easily program buttons and it's neat switch profiles to my "mouse mode" when I have to. Small gripe would be in assigning shortcuts. It doesn't always work. For example any command that involves the Windows Key will not work for you except for the windows key itself not does Alt + Tab. I haven't quite figured out why this is the case I also own a Scruf and that allows me to program any key. Instructions could also be a bit more clear for when you want to really dig into the settings. The set up on general is easy but the instructions don't mention anything about assigning keys and what you can and can't do. Looks neat, compatible with my PC and the lighting is cool. There I met the review idea suggestions. Review over. ... show more
