  • Cheaply made, but gets the job done
The fly cam did what I needed it to, and stayed balanced all day while shooting. However. The fly cam is cheaply built. The screws are made of plastic, the case is not going to last, and I’m fearful that the fly cam will fall apart causing gear to crash to the floor. Will probably bite the bullet and buy the superior glide cam. If your on a budget though this will do the job, just know this product is unlikely to last you more than a few shoots. ... show more

  • Good product but difficult system
I can't complain about this product. But I find it incredibly difficult to use! I like the table clamp very much. It helps tremendously to balance the camera and stabilizer. But after I got it perfectly balanced, I found that everything wobbled or swayed anyway when walking around. They say it requires practice and technique. I watched half a dozen videos on YouTube that try to show how to stabilize. That didn't help much. I had to take out all the weights and replace them with a few coins. Perhaps my camera (Canon EOS Rebel T3i with 18 - 55 lens) is too light for the Flycam 5000? I think this system is not perfect. Perhaps the more expensive Crane is better? ... show more

  • Sia Later
Honestly if you're going to put some money into a stabilizer, just buy a gimble. This does have it's pros, don't get me wrong, especially if you're filming something thats fast paced (ie sports). The materials are sturdy, could definitely withstand some thrills and spills, unlike a gimble that can only handle the thrills. As someone who love cheap thrills, I can say I am glad I got this over the expensive gimble. All in all, it really depends on your desired shot. Pick this for speed, gimble for everything else. ... show more

  • Takes some practice
Build quality is good. It's difficult to set up with no glidecam experience. No instructions provided so you have to watch YouTube videos and practice for hours balancing it. I think this product can provide stable video with practice.

  • Good value
Does the job well for the price. What more can you ask for?

  • Like all stabilizers of this type
Like all stabilizers of this type, getting it stable is a challenge. Suggest practicing a lot. using this is also going to require practice. The table clamp also requires a flat surface for both top and bottom. Do not hook it to a beveled lip unless you want to have your rig drop. Quality is exceptional.. ... show more

  • Not the best
Very difficult to setup with little to no instructions

  • However, the method used is very difficult.
The material is excellent. However, the method used is very difficult. Large, heavy, long, cumbersome. I think I'll have to practice years to get a slide-like video. I don't think we should try to make a good image out of this stuff.
