The tracking module is a real game changer for me. I do a lot of travel content and I can now get in more shots with my family. Other features the included arm with controls and the live feed from the canera module are awesome additions. Often shooting at angles where I can see my camera screen or need to attach a monitor are gone. Lastly the vertical shooting quick release plate is a nice touch. Im coming from an rs3 which required some sort of alternative mounting solution. The tripod is self opening. You open one leg they all open. Having owned a few dji gimbals, this is their best iteration yet. The knobs are a game changer to an already stellar system. The one finger easy open tripod? Another fantastic quality of life update. The z axis notification is good in theory but in practice doesn't do anything. It's also tough to see while walking/framing your shot. It also now fully supports panasonic cameras via bluetooth and that just makes things so much simpler as a heavy/daily user of this gimbal. However, note that if you're coming from the RS3/RS4, don't reuse the same base plate even though it does fit. Switch it out for the new included mount. I still had the mounting plate on the camera from the RS4 and it was causing the camera to tilt forward slightly. I swapped it out thinking it wasn't going to solve my issue but it did. ... show more

The gimbal worked properly until an official DJI firmware update caused the screen to display static and become unusable. DJI Support informed me that this model was not officially released in the U.S., so it has no U.S. warranty coverage. This limitation was not clearly disclosed in the listing. Amazon referred me to Loyoda (the seller), but I have not received a solution. ... show more

Coming from an RS2 to this I honestly don't see a major improvement. The auto locking and unlocking motors are nice but outside of that it's really the same product repackaged. As for the AI tracking module...it's just ok. Don't expect it to be a game changing accessory as it was advertised to be. Anything tighter than 35mm will struggle to keep the subject in the center of the frame, which is honestly a bit annoying. Overall if you absolutely need a new gimbal then might as well get the newest one. But if you have one that works well and you don't need the "extras" then keep using what you have. ... show more

For the first decade of my filmmaking career, I resisted buying a gimbal. I heard all the horror stories, and it just didn't seem worth the cost or potential annoyance. Then I DPd a feature where the director wanted a ton of gimbal shots. So I bought this, and after struggling mightily to figure out how the hell this thing even worked, I fell in love. While I don't have any other gimbal experience to compare, I'm extremely pleased how the RS3 held up during some brutal shooting conditions. I haven't had to calibrate it in months, and that's with a DJI Focus Pro motor attached to my BMPCC4K, which makes it a heavy, bulky beast. The battery lasts for hours. It's typical to do one battery swap per 8-10 hr day, even with heavy use. It's so easy to use, so reliable and accurate, that I bought a second one. The A and B cams never come off the gimbals, even for static shots - just set the gimbal on a table, and if you need any movement, the joystick has you covered. There is nothing I wanted the RS3 to do that it hasn't been able to. I can't believe it took me 10 years to jump on board, but now that I have, I feel I really lucked out by going with DJI. ... show more
