This is my second purchase. These lights are the best I’ve ever used for growing plants. I’ve tried others including CurrentUSA, Marineland and some knock-offs but none compare to the natural appearance of these Fluval 3.0 series while providing the perfect spectrum for optimal plant growth. Connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth, the app allows custom wavelength adjustments for your particular setup. My aquascape tank has a full thick carpet of dwarf grass and the Fluval provides excellent depth penetration and full coverage from front to back to keep these plants healthy and spreading while my non tech aquariums see equally excellent results by using different wavelength balances and intensities. With build in timer, dawn and dusk graduated dimming and a low profile sleek design, this is the best aquarium light I’ve ever used and with the best results.     • Bright Light Does Not Adjust for Daylight Savings

Ordered this light for a 55 gallon planted aquarium and am pleased. The light housing is very sturdy and well built. The light and housing and transformer do get warm when on full bright, but not hot enough that they can't be touched or affect the water temperature. I like the different settings that can be programmed using the app and that I don't have to remember to turn it on or off. It did not adjust automatically to daylight savings time and there isn't any instruction on that or how to reset it after a power outage. After a quick internet search, it seems you just have to open the app and reconnect the light to the app and it will update to your phone's time settings, but that information would have been nice to have out of the box. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My plants are thriving with this light. I got it for my 55 gallon planted aquarium and even though it is somewhat pricey, I feel that it was a worthy investment investment. The convenience of having an app to adjust the settings and times is exactly what I need to help curb my algae growth while providing adequate lighting that penetrates to the bottom of my tank and provides the proper lighting for my plants. I wish I could control it over wifi though, there have been times that I forgot to switch it to the correct setting and my light stayed on for a weekend I was away ... show more

In regards to lights for your tank, this is by far the best i've owned. It's been almost a month and i've seen more photosynthesis in my plants than my Finnex 24/7. The app is literally the best for customizing the lights you want during different growth cycles. The bluetooth connected app let's you create 4 manual pre-set lights so you can select during certain times of the day or a setting for when you have company to show off the tank. It has a pro mode which you create what you want the light to be at certain times of the day. If you run CO2, you can coincide the timer with this for a perfect and consistent set up daily. You really get a lot of bang for the buck here. Do not sleep on this product. If you are going to hang LED's from the ceiling, go ahead. This does what those do just as well and for cheaper. Beginner to advanced planted aquariums need this more than any other light out there. Tip: Using the app, lower the blue light to about 8% while your plants are beginning to grow tall. It will reduce the amount of algae that grows. When your plants are nearing the top, turn it back up to about 30% max. This app makes it possible. ... show more

These lights have pretty much everything you need in an aquarium light. The app that controls the lighting is, perhaps, the best one out there. It has plenty of power to grow most any plant in your tank although especially deep tanks may require 2 lights (true of any light). I have them on 125, 90, and 29, and 20 long gallon planted tanks as well as on a 40 gallon planted turtle tank and a 60 gallon lowboy axolotl tank. I don't need the power for the last two applications but the adjustability of the lighting makes them perfect for those specific uses. Some people will say they are expensive and compared to cheaply made lights they are, but they will hold up and keep doing what they are built to do. They hit the sweet spot on a cost/value curve. While they are a good value, you can light your aquarium for less if saving money is your goal. ... show more

So far so good. I was very reluctant to purchase this. So much so, that I purchased a few others before this based on price alone. Well those other ones didn't work out so here I am. The light works. The light is on the hotter side of warm, but not abnormal for a heat spreader on top of a light (I can place my hand on it with no problem). The power brick gets moderately warm, I have no concern with that. Color wise, it has less options than other brands. I feel like I don't have the full customization that you typically would with newer LED lights. The blue seems a little more aqua blue than a rich bold blue. The red is not red it's pink. I think they even call it out as Pink. My concern is if the wavelengths are sufficient for plant growth (but this is a plant light, so I'm giving it the benefit of doubt). For as best as you can tell, I added pictures of each of the colors at 100% and all others at 0. Manual mode on my camera so it did not color adjust all in the same lighting conditions at the same location. The app is okay. It clearly wasn't designed by a US based consumer. Once you realize that "Export" means load profile; things make a lot more sense. Also the slider bar for setting times in the pro setting has no way to input hard numbers; therefore I try to set a given time and as I remove my finger it tends to go up or down by 5 minutes, which is frustrating as anything... Once you get it setup, it works just fine. Seems to keep time well and transition as you would expect. It's only been a week now. If my plants live and it doesn't break then it'll be worth the money; though I feel it is a little over priced. ... show more
