This is by far the best aquarium light I've ever owned. Super easy to program and just forget it. No need to worry about the lights at all anymore. The gradual sunrise sunset is great. The only thing that could be better is easier customization programming. Otherwise perfect and I highly recommend.

Love my Fluval Light for my aquarium. It has professional light settings and you can control from your phone. Could not be any easier. You can quickly modify various light color spectrums if you have some algae creeping into your tank. This Lighting is so beautiful and makes my tank look amazing!!

Low tech aquarium. My floating plants are thriving with this light. Did have to raise the light about 3" for optimal performance. Highly recommend it. I had the fluval 2.0 before.

Nice, sleek, good controls. I have a planted tank with CO2 injection and carpeted plants. This unit was replacing a 4 T5 HO unit. I had to return it because I have a 21” deep tank and the unit just didn’t produce enough light to reach the substrate. In my situation I would have to purchase two of them and figure out how to suspend them above the tank like the light the previous pendant light. The total cost for two and suspension reaches the same as a more expensive more powerful professional unit. If you have a shallow tank 16” or less this light does a fantastic job. Over that you’re gong to have to use a more powerful light or two. Conclusion: LEDs are much better now than a few years ago but you’re going to have to pay for a powerful unit if you have a larger tank. ... show more

    • Finally an LED that works with planted aquariums!

Previously used Coralife 6700K high intensity fluorescent lights with my 46 gal. bow-front planted freshwater aquarium. Had a beautiful aquarium! Once those were phased out (about 3 years ago), tested 3 LED lamps (spent about $300 altogether on those) that were widely publicized to be great for planted freshwater aquariums. None worked. Ended up with dead plants (LEDs were either too bright or not the best spectrum), and blue-green algae growth, and my aquarium was a mess. Bought the Fluval 3.0 a couple of months ago, and set it up. Noticeable improvement. Requested and obtained the color spectrum values for the LEDs from Fluval (Pure White = 6500K; Warm White = 3000K; Cold White =15,000K; Blue Leds = 460/480 nm; Pink LEDs = proprietary according to Fluval). Since Pure White comes closest to my original Coralife 6700K fluorescent lights, increased on that; my current settings; Pink 100%, Blue 10%, Cold White 10%, Pure White 80%, Warm White 80% (my bow-front aquarium is 20" deep).
