Over all, giving this lamp a FIVE STAR rating! It is LOVELY in our bedroom. The gold color is perfect for our decor and would love to get a couple more to add to the look. LOVE the two lamps on this fixture being controlled by different switches - please note, the only one that IS dim-able is the larger lamp. The reading lamp is not dim-able on ours. But this makes the reading lamp bright for night time reading and reducing the stress on our eyes. The bendable neck on the reading light is WONDERFUL, and can be bent to meet whatever needs. Whether reading in a chair or in bed, you can mold this to the direction you need light! The large lamp being dim-able is great for when one of us goes to bed before the other. We can turn the dimmer down, using the large lamp as a sort of night light for the other so they don't trip on anything in the dark! Over all the lamp is very light, except the base. The lightweight nature of the top parts makes it easily moved from place to place, and the base is perfectly heavy in all ways. It is light enough to move the lamp around the room for cleaning or more direction light, while heavy enough that we have no concerns of it falling over easily. If we had our toddler grandsons here, though, I would definitely put it out of reach of them as it will NOT withstand the active nature of two toddlers! LOL We wouldn't want them beaned on their head by a falling lamp. The globes, I will mention, are NOT GLASS. They are plastic. This is actually a nice safety feature with little ones or pets around. And although plastic, I truly feel they look just like the glass ones in other lamps. A perfect mesh of everything we were looking for in a light. This lamp would make a nice addition to a library or reading nook, a home office area, living room or as we have, a corner in the bedroom. NOTE: Personally, i think much of the directions should be done in reverse. They tell ou to start screwing parts together from the bottom to the top. When we did this, we had issue with the wire twisting too much from the switch section (Tube F on the directions) to tube G. The cord was going to be stressed too much in tube G if we continued. WE chose to start over and works from the top down. It helped keep the cord in proper path with the switch. Make note of this, if you don't mind, while you assemble and see if you need to do similar - it is important to protect the wiring so there are no issues with it in the future. This lamp is a really good value. It comes partially pre-assembled with you needing only to remove plastic wrap and screw the already joined pole pieces together, insert bulbs and screw shades on, and pull the cord through the bottom. It comes with both light bulbs you need so nothing additional is needed to get it operational - no tools, no other bulbs are needed. I didn’t love that the shades are lightweight plastic (think thin Tupperware bowls), so I deducted one star for that, but once the light is on you can’t really tell. As a bonus I wasn’t really expecting, the larger light is entirely dimmable by turn of the main knob. It clicks on and then further twisting brightens the light. The smaller light is click on or off only, but when both lights are on this lamp provides a SIGNIFICANT amount of light. I recommend this lamp because it provides a lot of bang for the buck and really brightens any room it’s in by a lot. If you need a surplus of light in a dark room and want the ability to dim the light when needed, this lamp is the way to go. ... show more

This is a nice floor lamp with very basic lamp shades. It's easy and quick to assemble. The taller lamp has a rotating ON/OFF switch on the pole and is dimmable. The side/reading lamp has a separate ON/OFF switch on the lamp and is not dimmable. The problem was that Tube A, which screws into the base, has no threads at all in the top (female) part of the tube, so you can't screw Tube B into Tube A. So, I can't use the light in its intended location and it can't stand up by itself. However, with the help of a bungee cord, I have the lamp standing upright next to a window for now. ... show more

We don't have overhead lighting in our dining area, and for a long time we've been making do with the absolute cheapest type of standing floor lamp. We finally decided to upgrade a little and I'm so glad we did! It was extremely easy to assemble, just screwing the pieces together, and it came with the bulbs. I love that it includes two light sources, one dimmable, one brighter and able to angle in different directions. The base is very sturdy so I'm not as worried about my young kids knocking it over. The metal stem also feels thick and high quality. I also like that the lamp shade pieces are still plastic so if my kids do succeed in knocking it over, I don't have to worry about it shattering and breaking.
