This lamp was very easy to assemble – no tools needed. The control knob in the center of the lamp pole controls the on / off and dimming function of the large lamp at the top; the two smaller lamps are each controlled by individual control knobs but those are on / off only with no dimming function It would be better if they dimmed also. The lamp base is heavily weighted but keeping the lamp rigidly vertical on a carpeted surface can be a challenge. No bulbs were included in the model I received, but bulbs are readily available at almost any hardware store at a reasonable price. I would have preferred a color other than black for this lamp, but it should be easily spray-painted to your preference. OVERALL: a good, functional, and useful floor lamp at a reasonable price. ... show more

I wanted to love this lamp. In looking at the product description, it was exactly what I needed for my office. I wanted the ability to customize the lights which this offers of one of the ability to dim the large light which this also offers. I also want to the ability to change how bright I made the light by selecting the appropriate number of likes to have on at a time. This thing was so difficult to put together. The first instruction made very little sense until you started to assemble it, and then you realized that rather than make the wiring the correct size for the tube, they tell you to fold it over and stick it inside the metal tubing. The packaging was awful. Trying to find all the parts and pieces in the Styrofoam container was a nightmare. I ended up with a little bits of Styrofoam all over my floor while trying to dig apart the styrofoam pieces to get to all of the items to assemble the lamp. When I finally was able to get to the last step and putting the lampshades on I discovered that one of the connector pieces had arrived with chips and cracks. For all of that ridiculous packaging, one of these pieces still came damaged. Because it does still technically function the way that I had hoped it would, It is sitting at two stars. It was three before I found the cracked piece. Honestly, it is not worth the money. ... show more

I am using this for my living room, which also doubles as my bedroom. Previously, I had only the ceiling light for reading, and it was not adequate. This lamp covers both reading and general lighting and is much better than what I had. Also, this “assembly challenged” person was able to put it together quickly. No tools are needed. I appreciate the attractive appearance and durable build of the product. And I especially appreciate that bulbs come with the package so I don’t have to go out shopping for the right ones, and that I can adjust the amount of light easily with this lamp, and it is even dimmable. I couldn't get a good picture of it assembled, as all my walls are white and glove sections blended in...but it looks just like shown on the sales page. Great price for an extremely functional lamp! ... show more

I minus 1 star because of the "warm" light that is included for all three spots. I prefer the "cool" more white light. It outs out a lot of light and focuses on the right position when sitting for the reading lamps. The dim feature is handy if I want to set a mood. It cost me half as much for new cool bulbs as it did for the lamp. I wish an option for cool was available. ... show more
