While baking the other day I used my daughters paddle for something too stiff…the composite plastic broke. For the replacement I ordered this one and was pleasantly surprised that it is metal! She loves it and has already put it to the test! Scrapes the bowl well also!

I thought I would love this more than I do. It does seem to mix and whip things better. That's a definite pro. It does not scrape the sides like I expected, but that's okay. My two biggest complaints are that it doesn't scape the bottom and leaves giant globs unmixed (which is fine since I stir anyways, I just expected it to do better), and the biggest issue is that is makes a godawful noise when I use it. It "thwacks" against the sides of the bowl, and (yes that's the official term 🤣) actually makes my kitchenaid rattle around on my counter if what I'm using it on isn't sufficiently lubricating. I've found it works really well on dry ingredients, and cream cheese and butter (aside from the giant globs in the bottom) and the noiseand shaking isn't there, but it still thwacka thwacka thwacka's around my bowl with most things. I have the 5qt, for reference. Overall, it's okay. It was cheap, and it replaced my enameled one that was chipping, but I'll likely replace it very soon because it's annoying. ... show more
