  • Good printer, Please Read
Set name: 5MP
Okay so let me just start out by saying, 3D printing IS NOT what I thought it would be, in a good way! Had this printer since late November 2025, it’s my first printer. I’ve definitely learned a lot and it was worth the money. Now, I will admit I have had one spaghetti incident so far which cooked my nozzle and damaged my plate which did leave irreversible damage marks in the plate, which in turn left marks on prints and is a bit annoying but not too big of a deal. I did end up replacing the build plate and unclogged the nozzle along with it, and it works great again. I will say it is a little tricky for beginners as this was my first printer as well. You have to do a lot of research to learn the different settings and techniques that different filament types need in order to avoid incidents like I had. I can see how for non-handy people, unlogging the nozzle may be a bit tricky, but luckily I’m handy so it was no problem for me. Just be weary of that. I will say, it is a little annoying that I had to wait multiple weeks for parts to ship new form China but I’m a pretty patient person so it didn’t bother me too much. Just be aware if your thinking of buying this printer for your kids or self and haven’t started 3D printing yet, just please don’t make a stupid move and leave your printer alone at first if your not confident enough yet like I did unless you want to end up going through 2 months of trouble shooting and waiting on parts/taking apart your printer’s nozzle. Otherwise it’s not a bad printer, it works good when it actually does work which is a lot of the time, but it mostly depends on your slicer settings which is the software you will use to model and send your prints to your printer. You can either send it via Wifi or the USB drive it come with, but I recommend just using the Wifi feature at first just to learn as it’s easier. I didn’t learn till a few months in that there is a built in camera that you can watch your prints on (once again over Wifi), via the Flashprint slicer so you don’t have to be always watching your printer 24/7, but I suppose that one is simply on me for not reading all the specs before buying, lol. I did sit in front of the printer at first and watch the prints however please do not do that and crack open a window every now and then, as I also learned that 3D printing can release non-dangerous particles in the air which is NOT dangerous at all, however a bit irritating to breath and can make your throat tickle after a while. I’m just saying this because I seen some other reviewers have their young children directly in front of the enclosure with their faces against the door. People, I’ll say it again this is NOT a toy 😭 it is a machine. Just wanted to get that out of the way. If you don’t want your prints to come out with textures I learned you will also have to fork another $20 over to switch out the build plate which is magnetic and comes off easily and switched it out with a smooth plate which you will want to get right away if you want your prints to come out smooth and not sparkly. All in all it’s been a great journey to learn the wacky world of 3D printing and if your willing to give a lot of time, a reasonable amount of money, and a LOT of patience then I’d definitely recommend this printer, just don’t expect your first prints to be great and start with something simple like a built in test print such as a cube. Your gonna need a computer to use it of course. You can either find print STLs online (there are multiple great websites with free 3D models made by real people that you can use) or you can design your own models although if your new I’d recommend staying away from that for a while unless your familiar with the likes of Blender or 3D modeling. I have ran about 30+ prints on this guy at this point and they always come out really well but it depends on your room environment and settings. Know you will likely need to buy a separate dry box to dry your filament as over time it slowly absorbs moisture in the air and can ruin your prints if your not careful. I found it helps to have a dehumidifier in the same room or nearby but it probably won’t matter too much if your careful about it. The roll of filament it comes with is not a lot, it’s about half a roll of PLA which is a slightly weaker filament type but it’s still great for quick parts or small objects, so plan on buying another roll of filament right away, usually 1.75mm. Thank you so much for reading my very long and detailed review, (I know…) have a great day and happy printing everybody! ... show more

  • Not for the weak of heart
Set name: 5MP
I had been considering getting a 3D printer for years, and finally decided to push the button. I chose this model because it was middle of the road. It wasn’t the cheapest POS out there, and definitely not the most expensive. If you are expecting a point and click activity, maybe you should take up knitting. Starting with the setup process, a fair amount of thought and effort goes into using this device. The more effort you put in, the more you will get out. In my case, I have zero regrets. I’m a little over a month into this, and the machine has been running nearly nonstop since I got it up and running. But be warned. 1). There is a lot of waiting involved. Larger models can take hours, and sometimes days to complete. 2). A lot can go wrong. Not every model completes successfully. 3) This is not a cheap hobby: 1KG of filament (a 3D printer’s ‘ink’) ballparks at $20. Damp filament makes for failed prints, so you will need to purchase things to dry the filament, and keep the filament dry. You will need certain tools to deal with your models after they’ve been printed. 4) it’s dangerously addictive. Like I mentioned before, this thing has been running nonstop since I got it. In hindsight, I might’ve gotten a unit that prints in multiple colors at the same time. (This one uses one color at a time). However, I would’ve missed out on all of the lessons that I learned with this one. I already have my next printer picked out, but I need to clean out my back room so I have some place to set it up, which I’m not doing because I’m spending all of my time printing. (and finding new things to print) Don’t say I didn’t warn you. ... show more

  • Test Within Return Period
Set name: 5M
This was purchased in October as a Christmas gift for our 14 year old, so off the bat - we couldn't return it no matter what. I wouldn't play that game again with this machine! Long story short, we have spent months tinkering with and revisiting this machine over and over and over and it can't even complete a test print. Initially I just thought he was a novice and that he would figure it out with perseverance, then I thought my husband and Google and the instructions were inept, and then I felt like an imbecile myself until we finally realized it wasn't us. We even had some 3D printer- crazy friend come try to help and they said it was just a bust and that they actually had the same issue with the same machine starting out - pretty much DOA. Did not recommend this brand but at least they were able to return theirs when they dealt with it. Bummer for our kiddo whose "big" Christmas gift was never realized plus all the wasted time and filament. And bummer for us who have to save up for something better and replace it! If you choose this questionable 3D printer destiny - at least know you'll have sufficient time to test it within the return window. ... show more

  • Crazy easy to use and fast printing
Set name: 5MP
Update 2, changing to 4 stars because the issue I was having with it jamming over and over again seemed to happen for a specific print, and since I stopped trying to do that print I have not had issues. UPDATE. Filament feeder started jamming right after I submitted my previous review. I have fixed it twice, and it just did it again. You have to take apart the mechanism that feeds the filament to fix. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to fix (thanks to youtube tutorials), but given that it seems to be jamming every other print is going to make this thing unusable for my kids who i bought it for. This thing is absolutely incredible. My daughter loves those 3d printed dragons and animals and begged me for a 3d printer. Grabbed this one on sale to give her for Christmas, and OMG it is so easy to use. I have never used a more intuitive, user friendly piece of equipment in my life. We were printing quality articulated dragons and snakes on day one! I only got the pro version in case my husband wanted to do prints with something other than PLA. I will definitely be buying the multicolor one next. :) ... show more

  • My 11-Year-old Son loves it!
Set name: 5M
I bought this for my son’s 11th birthday after he had been asking for it for a long time. He absolutely loves it and uses it every day to print whatever he wants. His older brother is 14, and they constantly fight over who gets to use it more. This machine is fantastic and surprisingly accurate, I’m honestly amazed at what they create each day. We previously used a Toybox model, but this one is on a completely different level. We also tried an Ender 3 printer from Amazon and ended up returning it because it felt outdated, had an old-style display, and had poor device compatibility. This Flashforge has been a huge upgrade and is a great choice for beginners (I can’t speak for professionals, but for us it’s been perfect). The only downside is connectivity. You can only connect using a PC or laptop, not a tablet or mobile device which is quite annoying. Also, kids aren’t allowed to download the software (I don't know why?), so they have to use my laptop to print. Aside from that, it’s a must-have for anyone starting out in 3D printing ... show more

  • Rock solid PETG, PCTG, TPU and PC-CF Printer once dialed in
Set name: 5MP
I purchased this printer about a year ago to complement my two AD5X machines, which are enclosed and dedicated to PLA. My goal was to have a dedicated printer for PETG and PCTG while taking advantage of the Pro enclosure.PLA was never an issue, but it did take some time to dial in OrcaSlicer calibrations and develop custom filament profiles. Once properly tuned, however, this printer far exceeded my expectations. It has become an absolute workhorse for PETG, PCTG, and TPU. I run TPU using a top-mounted spool holder, and the results have been consistently excellent. More recently, I needed to produce several PC-CF parts for a client. After some additional calibration and creating a dedicated PC-CF filament profile, the printer has been delivering flawless parts. The customer has been extremely happy with the quality. For the last three weeks, this machine has been running PC-CF almost nonstop without missing a beat. Don't underestimate this printer. Does it benefit from calibration? Absolutely. Should you create custom filament profiles? Definitely. But once it's properly set up, it's a highly capable and reliable production machine. For TPU and PC-CF, I use a 0.6 mm nozzle and print directly from a filament dryer after drying the material for several hours. The results have been outstanding. ... show more
