  • Nostalgic, reasonably priced chair
I chose this chair for two reasons: price was right and it brings back memories of my childhood. The chair arrived on time and as expected. It's sturdy enough that my 6'2" 250 lb husband can sit on it without it breaking though I doubt it's as comfortable for him as it is for me. And it is pretty comfy. It was originally intended for my office, but I think I'm going to opt for my craft room at this time and get a more conventional chair for both of us. It may get moved into the garage and replaced by the spiffy red model in the near future. The only negative was that the height adjustment arm broke the first time we adjusted the chair...it's a plastic sleeve over a metal bar and it didn't seem to be pushed on as far as it should have been and it snapped. We contacted Flash Furniture and they are shipping out a replacement, expedited and at no cost. That kind of customer service rates 5 stars. All in all, a pretty good deal. ... show more

  • Good chair.
I bought 4 of these chairs. I bought 1 for each of my children (ages 5, 7 and 9) and one for me (37). The chairs are pretty to look at and seem well made. The colors are bright and the sliver is very shiny. They roll well, almost too well. When they are raised high, my children have a bit of difficulty getting in them without them rolling out from under them. They've also tumbled out of them on multiple occasions when they've leaned while sitting in them. My children also don't weigh enough to lower the chair by themselves. I wish these chairs had a locking mechanism on the wheels. I also wish that there was a way for the back rest to be screwed in. The backrest just sits on top of the silver bar connecting it to the chair. It comes off with a simple tug. Overall I do recommend these chairs, they just weren't the best purchase for my younger ones. ... show more

  • Holds up to queen size
I was worried about the reviews I read on this chair which implied it wouldn't be suited for a heavier person. I am 200#. I ordered anyway because it was inexpensive and if it wouldn't work for me it would still be useful for other members of my household. To my surprise the seat is really sturdy. I am not able to walk and I use a wheelchair but have some ability to push myself backward on solid uncarpeted floors if a chair is easy rolling and has 5 casters rather than 4 so it doesn't tip. I read reviews from others with mobility impairments who wanted this chair for household tasks so I hope this review will be helpful to anyone hoping for a chair for this purpose. I was using a common round mechanic stool on wheels to sweep floors, clean the fridge etc. My stool stopped raising/lowering so I wanted to replace it with something that had a better (more comfortable) seat. If you are looking for something to help you with household tasks due to limited mobility I do suggest this chair however, you can't really rely on the back support to actually be supportive. It's a good reminder of where your trunk is in space if you need something to remind you that you have sat far enough back and that you are sitting straight but otherwise it's not a good support and you can't lift and carry the chair by the back piece or the piece will come off. For me a dollop of JB weld cements that onto the prongs so I can lift it and so that body movements don't cause it to pop off from the prongs. The casters roll very nicely over wood and linoleum. It's not tippy. It raises and lowers easily and the handle is easy to reach and grasp. The shape of the chair is great if you are dealing with pelvic or lower back issues. I found one problem that anyone with lower body weakness or nerve problems will understand. The seat is very very slick and smooth and I find that I can easily slide right off the chair. I use an anti skid rug backing (really grippy mat) to keep me from slipping. The slick seat sure looks great though! Overall it's a very nice looking, comfortable, easy rolling chair that in my opinion is constructed very well and worth the money I spent on it. ... show more

  • These chairs are great, but dear god
These chairs are great, but dear god, don't lean back in them. I'm more than a little annoyed that they were manufactured so that the integral part where the back of the chair attaches to the base is nothing but plastic. That means leaning back in your chair will be perfectly bouncy and comfortable, until you hear a sound, lean a little further back to see what it was, and *CRACK*, you're now the proud owner of a stool. For a section of the chair that is obviously going to receive stress now and then, I would hope it was a little sturdier than a Barbie's stiletto heel. Otherwise, a very comfy chair (stool). ... show more

  • Not bad for the price! Pleasantly surprised
They roll really well. The lack of back support is felt when I sit on it for a long time, but it is perfect for the kids at-home school. They love how easily they sling and roll. Plus, they look pretty nice.

  • very nice for the price
you really get what you pay for here and the lifespan and longevity of the product will be based on how you treat it over time. overall i am satisfied as i don't abuse things, so this lil chair will probably outlast me.

  • The high number of 5 star reviews are well deserved!
This is a great chair for the price. Either the manufacturer has updated the back rest or someone who breaks the back rest is abusing the chair. The version I received has a full metal support setup for where the two chrome arms are welded on to a metal plate. This plate is then bolted with three bolts to the bottom of the main chair adjustment plate and height adjustment. There is no plastic to break by leaning back. I just can't see how someone could break the tough plastic backrest where it presses against your lumbar area. At the end of the day you can't go wrong with this chair for the price and functionality. It's just what I was looking for as a chair that would have a wider range of height adjustment for use at a taller workbench. I use two work benches for hobby related work and one is 37 1/2 inches tall and the other is 34 inches tall. It has perfect adjustment for me where I'm 5' 10" and 190 lbs. Time will tell, but its no wonder that this chair has many high reviews. Easily a 5 star winner in my book. ... show more
