I have had this chair for 4 days. I sat in it for several hours each on Friday and Saturday and it's gotten progressively worse. Fewer hours Saturday, even fewer Sunday, and today (Monday), I couldn't make it through two hours of studying. I tried. I put a cushion on the seat Friday evening, and then a blanket. Nothing works. The mesh isn't taut enough, and the front bar presses into the back of my thighs. I thought for the first few hours it would be fine, but it's not. The mesh does...something, I don't know what. My butt and legs go all tingly and sortof asleep, and they burn when I stand up. I can't go sit on anything else either, because I'm so sore. This chair wrecked my ability to sit. I hate it. I'm standing up to write this review, and then I'm going to try to study and take notes lying down in bed instead. Please don't buy this. Your butt will thank me. ... show more

    • Attractive and comfortable chair but had a major defect

This task chair was not difficult to assemble, since I've put several together over the past few years. It is attractive and well made. I looked for years of great service. It took me a couple of days to get used to the "sit" of the chair but I found it extremely comfortable...much better than my previous task chair that had no lumbar support. I liked the flip-up arms so I could have them in a position that would work for me, whether up or down. There was no info provided in the assembly instructions about all the levers and knob for adjustments. UNFORTUNATELY, ten days after I started using this task chair, it started creaking and groaning (a kind of spring-related noise)--and loudly, too! This noise persisted and no matter what I attempted to do per adjustments, it did not alleviate this totally irritating racket whenever I sat in the chair (and, no, I am not obese!). I tried emailing, then phoning (was told, however, to use their email address), then emailing again, the manufacturer to no avail...customer service is NOT present at Flash Furniture, obviously! My last resort was to present this problem to Amazon and I was told (and was assisted in the process) to return this chair (which I have). I cannot recommend any Flash Furniture products at this point...and definitely NOT this task/office chair! ... show more

    • It is tipped too far back

You can't make this chair "upright." Right now, I am perched on the outer edge of the chair seat, because if you sit back on the chair, you will be leaning backwards, and there is no way to correct it enough to make any difference. You can correct it a tiny bit, but just not enough. If you take your hand and form an "L" shape with your index finger and your thumb to represent the chair, and then you tilt it backwards an inch, you will understand what I am saying. Other people have said the same thing about this chair. It's a hassle to send anything back, and I will probably just "live with it," but if I can forewarn anyone else, that would be good. First of all, Amazon dropped the ball on this. After waiting for over a week, I received the package and the package looked as though it fell off a moving truck. I opened the package to find all the parts scattered in there like dismantled LEGOs. Yes, this was from Amazon Warehouse, still, there is no excuse for this. Anyway, I decided to put the chair together and fortunately, I was able to track down all the parts and nuts and such. The instruction manual was basically a sheet of five or so diagrams with steps out of order or with the same number that I decided I was better off without. The setup took about thirty minutes. When I was done, I found myself the proud owner of one the ugliest pieces of furniture I have ever spent money on. Perhaps the disappointing purchase experience added to this effect, but there is something especially hideous about the metallic brown of the chair in real life. Moreover, the back of the chair has a slight slant to it, and you back is always set at an awkward angle whenever you seat in this chair. And because this chair is slightly taller than the average desk chair at full height, you find yourself needing to rest your feet on something. Draught chairs or stools usually have a foot ring for this very purpose. This chair does not, and its legs slope down at angle that prevent them from being an adequate foot rest. Bottom line: besides the breathable fabric, this chair has no redeeming qualities. And Amazon Warehouse just absolutely embarrassed themselves here. I initially intended to return this POS to Amazon, but I realize now that Amazon will just throw everything in another box and hawk it to another customer. So, my one good deed for the year is to take this junk out of circulation. No one else should have to deal with this piece of.... ... show more

I run a one man guitar repair shop, String Theory Guitar Repair, outside of Nashville, TN. I spend a lot of time sitting. For several years my main shop stool was a drum throne with a high back on it. It worked OK but the seat deteriorated over time and it really wasn't all that comfortable. I recently developed bone spurs on my neck and had to have cervical spinal fusion surgery. Post surgery, finding a better ergonomical shop stool became a must. After researching many, many stools, I decided on this one. Assembly was super easy and I'm perplexed by how anyone could put the seat on backwards as mentioned in several reviews. The stool is very comfortable but seems a tad flimsy upon my first few hours of use. I hope it's just how it is and not a harbinger of future collapse. ... show more
