  • 4 years for 55 bucks, not too shabby
Size: Mid-Back
Owned the chair for just over 4 years, for $55 if you get a good one out of the box it should last. If you follow the minor upkeep instructions like retightening the screws every 3 months or so it should last you a long time as for mine hardly any noticeable wear on armrest, seat cushion, or backrest from daily use. Not much low back support but you can buy a cheap $5-10 lumbar pillow. As far as weight capacity you’re probably safe sub 190lbs. I’m 5-10 /195lbs and one late day I’m stretching by arching back in the chair it suddenly gave out on me. Pictures of the failure point attached. But for being a chair around that $50 mark that lasted me 4 years i’ll give it a 3. Purchasing a different one for my next chair. ... show more

  • Great chair, just don't lean back
Size: Mid-Back
This chair has served me well for over a year however as I was trying to stay focused on my reading, I chose to lean back and stretch. Before I knew it, my feet were above the desk, my eyes staring at the ceiling, and my chair was no more. All that to say, if you are a smaller human that is capable of sitting quietly in a chair, this may be the best option for you! Otherwise, this chair may have it out for you as well and you will be lying on the ground wondering if it was worth the few dollars saved. ... show more

  • Cheapest chair is very functional & durable after 2 years of use!
Size: Mid-Back
Super easy to put together, but the seat is hard. I'm worried. I'll be sitting a lot studying in med school. I'll update more later. I almost think I should have gotten a regular chair with better cushioning, no swivel or roll. It also smells a little strange. I'll update later. 8/3/15 I changed my rating to 4 stars because a year later, and LOTS of sitting as a medical student (YES LOTS), the cushion is good, it does not smell, and it is very reliable! I think perhaps I "broke in" the seat. One screw did fall out at some point...but I have hardwood floors so I heard it clunk. I just screwed it back in (checked all screws/tightened them) and it's been fine ever since. Back support is good, I sit all the way back. For the price, I'm happy. I remember it being one of the cheaper options for $56.69 total. One thing I don't like it how my HAIR accumulates in the roll wheels, but I think that would happen in any chair. I tried to cut it out to no avail. Oh well! 5/20/16 Still a great chair! Another clunk on my hardwood floors = a screw fell out! Well, I kept trying to hand screw it in (kept falling out), so I searched high & low for the right tool to get it back in. I TIGHTENED EVERYTHING! ***KEEP YOUR ASSEMBLY KIT HANDY*** I'm sure mine is somewhere in this room. I just can't find it! Chair is made of a sort of mesh - so you'll get little bits of things stuck in the cushion. (crumbs, I suspect). Still a great chair! ... show more

  • Broken. Not usable.
Size: Mid-Back
Hi. Purchased this for my teen. He mentioned one of the screws didn't go in, but didn't say it was because the metal plate at the bottom of the chair was bent and one can't sit on the chair because it is tilted to one side and is completely unusable. It baffles me how a huge bent metal piece didn't get picked by quality control. I recently discovered as he needed to sit at his desk for Covid related schooling and asked for another chair so he could write an exam. It's been too long to get a replacement now, but want others to know so they are careful. I tried asking before writing this review but didn't get response. ... show more

  • If you can afford it, look for something better
Size: Mid-Back
I bought this for my son for Christmas in 2013. As I was sitting here looking to buy him a new chair for this Christmas (2014), this model popped up and reminded me why I am shopping for a new chair. I liked the design and the fact that it is not overly large -- he has a very small bedroom and so this worked out great size-wise. Unfortunately, that is about all the positive I can give it. Like other reviewers here, I found assembly to be complicated by the fact that the screw holes were misaligned, requiring the strength of Hercules to get the parts together. Once together, though it looked to be fairly solid. Alas, this was not to be. By July the back had fallen off multiple times until my son just left it off in frustration and used the chair like a stool. Then the seat started falling off. By September, the thing was back to pieces, and those pieces went straight to the dump. Right now, this chair is listed at about $54. To my mind, that is a very equitable price for this chair, but I wouldn't spend more than that. ... show more

  • Missing Parts
Size: Mid-Back
Upon arrival and opening the box I was pleasantly surprised at the chairs appearance and how well made it appeared to be. However, I soon realized it was missing a few key pieces. I contacted customer service and they were attentive and took the relevant info needed to get me the missing parts. This was in March. Tomorrow is June 1st and still no parts. I get that mistakes happen, no biggie. Had the needed parts arrived, I'm positive the chair would have been exactly what I needed, an inexpensive, yet durable desk chair. Unfortunately this was not the case. At this point I just want my money back. ... show more

  • Not really suitable for everyday office use.
Size: Mid-Back
Update: 1/28/16. The chair has not completely fallen apart. I wish I had never bought it. Good office chairs cost a lot of money. This chair does not cost a lot of money. That's doesn't mean it's not good, it's not uncomfortable, but it's designed to look a lot like the expensive chairs you see in offices with mesh backs. The similarities end there. This chair, made inexpensively in China, took about 1/2 hour to assemble due to the fact that some of the bolts did not like the idea of spending their lives in the chair and therefore were reluctant to grasp. The chair cushion feels stiff and when pressed, actually feels like it's filled with Styrofoam packing material. Almost crunchy. At about $68, but more at Staples, I'm hoping to get a good couple of years out of it. Next time I just might spend the $200 or $300 for a chair that will last for many years. This chair will not stand a lot of use, in my opinion, and would certainly not be suitable for everyday office use. It's okay, I hope, for my occasional use as my computer chair, and would likely be a decent choice for a student for the same purpose. But if your kids are living in that chair, between homework, web surfing and game playing, you'll likely want a better chair. Even $100 to $150 buys a much better leather chair. Happy sitting! ... show more
