They look sturdy they seem sturdy however, two things really concerned me. I needed chairs that were very high for a high bar so I purchased two as a trial. It said the seat height was 31.5 in when in fact it is only 27 in. 4.5 in makes a difference especially when an individual is on the shorter side. Over time the seats are going to compress probably even lowering it to 25 in. This was the main reason I bought these was because they had one of the highest seat heights. The other issue was packaging and shipping. The FedEx person who delivered it delivered one box upside down as they are already pre-assembled. This caused some scratches and gouges where there shouldn't be scratches and gouges and the amount of foam wrapping is quite insane actually which didn't do much to protect them. The distance from Warehouse to me is very short so this might pose more of an issue if the travel distance of shipment is across the country. ... show more

I like this chair, however I have just two complaints - The rungs and the back support. My kid (age 6) has a problem climbing up because one rung is too low, and the other is too high. There needs to be one in the middle. My husband complains that the back rest is set low which doesn't give the greatest support. We like higher backs on our chairs. Good points are this chair is very sturdy, super easy to assemble. Takes 5 minutes to install the seat (with a drill) using the included 4 screws (use a drill because there are no holes pre-drilled for you). Packaged very well. So well in fact that this is the longest part of the assembly - just getting all that off! But hey, no scratches, so thanks for all that wrapping! This should hold up for years to come. I'm happy it is metal and the seat is very comfortable. All 4 of my floor protectors were intact and not damaged. They are white, which is odd on a black chair, so they stand out if. If that bothers you, search for others on here. This chair with the cushion sits pretty high, so make sure to measure if your counters sits low. Some adults can't put their legs directly under the counter when sitting on this. I ordered just one chair to test out which is nice that you can do this since most chairs come in a set of 2. ... show more

Price/Quality: 5/5 stars. Packaging: 5/5/ stars. Assembly: 2/5 stars. The overall quality of the stool is really good; especially for the price. Besides the cushion, the steel frame is a single piece, making it very sturdy. I saw stools in stores multiple times more expensive and no where close to this item's quality. The reason I'm giving it four stars overall is because I had several issues with the assembly process. I ordered two of them, yet only received one screw. There wasn't a bag in the box, so I'm wondering if the screws were loose and fell out the bottom. I was able to use that screw to buy a pack of the same ones. The underside of the cushion does not have holes in it. I had to drill holes first and was then able to attach the seat. It seems lazy to me for the manufacturer not to have added holes. However, the price/quality weigh so heavily that I was not even upset about having to do a little work on it myself. Both stools were wrapped completely in protective shipping foam. It actually took longer to take all of that off than it did to run to the store and attach the seat. I saw an earlier review from a few years ago that mentioned their chair was scratched on delivery. Maybe the company took that to heart, because there was no way my stools were getting scratched! ... show more

I was looking this link up for someone, realized we’ve had them for 9 years and decided I needed to leave a review. They have been in our kitchen and have been well used (we have 9 kids) and are still sturdy as ever. Assuming the quality is still the same, I highly recommend these stools.

...except the packaging is horrible. The item essentially ships "as is," minus the seat cushion being attached. The only problem with that is that a quarter of the quadrant of the box is empty. They didn't fill it with spacers or a cardboard brace or anything. Needless to say, the box arrived incredibly damaged with a big hole there. The UPS guys are always in a rush to get to the next delivery but I didn't want to flat-out refuse the shipment, so after peeking in the box, the chair looked alright and we kept it. Unfortunately, the flat screws to hold the seat on and whatever other hardware may have been in there was gone. I was able to find some regular screws to hold the seat cushion in place, and I guess I'll eventually call the 800 number on the box to request a replacement set. Other than that, the chair is superb. Very sturdy and very handsome looking. We bought just one for our son to use but are considering buying another three so we don't fight over the lone stool - it fits the whole family perfectly, from a 3-year-old to a 10-year-old to two adults. ... show more

The quality of the actual product and seat is wonderful. No question one of the best chairs out there for the dollar. I did a lot of research before buying, and this one was durable, and well made with a comfortable seating area and restaurant-quality is accurate as far as durability. That being said I am picky about my furniture and I had to replace both of the first ones which had small scratches or dings. The first replacement was flawless and it was easy to return and packaged well. The second still had a small ding on the upper post and I just kept it since I want to be enjoying them not constantly sending them back. Overall still very satisfied that I made the right choice. Update 2020: Just going back and updating some reviews. The seating area of these came off multiple chairs with fairly light use now I have to find some screws to try and make them work or they go to the dump. Loved the chairs but not sure on the seat attachment. Also if you have these next to a wall they will guage it with the top edge of chair especially with kids so be careful. ... show more
