3 of 4 were fine

I ordered four of these in total (two white vinyl with gold base, two black vinyl with gold base) and three were perfectly fine. As for the 4th, it had a few problems. There was some kind of white paint on the underside of the chair that I was able to (mostly) remove with some scrubbing; there's a ding on the round base plate; and the plate that connects to the chair has a warp. Problem-chair aside, I like them. As a general note, I would recommend that anyone with wide hips measure their lap span first. I got these while keeping an old, scrawny man in mind who will benefit from the arms wrapping around the sides for the structual security, but I do have some wide-hipped relatives that may not actually be able to sit in these because of the arms. ... show more

Great short bar stool
Color: Gray Fabric/Chrome Frame Size: Set of 1
We were looking for an adjustable bar stool that would fit under our countertop of our kitchen island. Under means it can be set to its lowest height and it will slide complete under our countertop. These do as the underside of our ctop is 34.75" from the floor. We purchased one and gave it a try. The box it comes in is big but the unit is well packed. Setup consisted of 4 fasteners - took us 15 min. Base is very large which I believe contributes to how stable the chair is. The pneumatics are smooth and work as expected. The cushion is comfortable. I'd like it to be a little firmer but it's not uncomfortable. The seat is indeed snug. It snugs around my gluts and thighs. I find it comforting but some people might not. The back is a bit low for my taste but this is the case for bar stools that must slide under a countertop of our height. I wish the back was taller. It comes up about 1/3 the way up my back. I'm 6' tall. When I want to lean back and relax, I can't fully do so because of the height of the back. It's not a problem but for those looking for a full height back, you won't like these. As another reviewer noted, the foot rails are sharp. You can't put bare feet on them. So we followed their advice and ordered edge trim: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N9IB48C/ This worked perfectly. Took us 10 min per chair to install using metal sheers. What a nifty solution from this reviewer. One chair needs 3' of edge trim to be safe. Finally, I have to agree with other reviewers that the foot rests feel a little on the flimsy side. The chair however feels very sturdy. I weigh 180lb at 6' so I carry a bit of weight when I plop into the chair. I simply don't pound my feet onto the foot rests and they hence seem fine. We ordered a total of 4 chairs in the gray fabric. It's great they have many colors to choose from. We also purchased the 5 year insurance plan from Allstate. These chairs will be heavily used in our kitchen so I figured why not. At about $100 / chair with insurance included and backed by Amazon, these chairs cost much less than what we have found at popular furniture stores in our town and MUCH less than the fancy furniture / thrift stores. After about 3 weeks of shopping at local stores and looking online, I settled for these and am very happy. ... show more

Good quality - a tad firm on the tush
Color: White Vinyl/Chrome Frame Size: Set of 1
For starters this is one of the few stools that did not come in a two-pack and I only wanted one. Very solid, fully adjustable height and easy to assemble. The seat cushion could use a tad more padding. Good lumbar support.
