I ordered this chair looking for an office chair that had a very straight back, but still looked dignified enough for the office. I would say if that is what you are looking for, two cheers for this chair. The chair itself feels pretty study, and the back is in fact very straight. It looks nice. The bottom cushioning is minimal, so after eight hours in the chair at work, I find myself wishing the padding was a bit more, but if you prefer a stiffer chair this will work for you. What gets ZERO stars is Amazon's delivery & assembly service. They arrived on time, worked on the chair for 20 minutes, and then started asking me for tools. I work in a law firm; we do not have tools, which is why I paid for these assemblers in the first place. 20 additional minutes later (two guys working on one chair for 40 minutes), they informed me that it was assembled except for one bolt, which they could not get in, and in the process, stripped the head, thereby ruining the whole mess. They advised me of this and left. That is the standard of service Amazon's delivery people observe, so if you are looking for something more—ahem—competent, look elsewhere. ... show more

It is a cheap Chinese quality chair. Definitely not worth $300, MAYBE $100 on a good day. The wood and wheels are flimsy, but the material looks decent quality . However, it looks AMAZING, and I couldn’t find one that looked this good for any cheaper elsewhere .. so I just had to bite the bullet. It is what it is.. welcome to Joe Biden’s America. I have a feeling the cheap plastic wheels will break at some point .. if so, I’ll upgrade to metal casters. In conclusion: overall a good looking chair, but needs some reinforcements/additional screws here and there/ and upgraded wheels in order to feel as good as it looks.. if you’re a handyman that can DIY, then I’d say definitely buy it. The oxblood color is no joke- I thought it would have been a little more red, but it looks distinguished in my office. The shipping was fast and the packing was particularly impressive- as not to mar the wood on the arms or feet. Easy to assemble out of the box and the wood and nail tacks give it a more sophisticated look than the previous silverized plastic on the previous office chair. The cushions (both lumbar and seat) are particularly plush to the point you almost feel like you are falling into the chair. Everything is held together with sturdy bolts, so this thing is going to be around for a while. The only complaint that I may offer is that the oxblood material does not seem to breathe very well.     • Nice looking chair, but…

Easy assembly and a very nice looking chair. I replaced a very uncomfortable Executive chair, with this one. Very pleased with the look, but after a year the material on the arms began separating from the foam. Manufacture was kind enough to replace the arms, but the replacements had to same issue less than 6 months later. The seat material is also separating from the foam. I’m not sure if it a low quality glue, but one would think a chair that isn’t cheap, wouldn’t be cheaply made. If this is going to be your daily use chair, I’d look elsewhere. If it won’t be used that often, it’ll probably look good a lot longer than mine did. I’ll be buying a different chair shortly. I cannot stand having ugly, cheap furnishings in my home. I work too hard and long to settle for below average quality. ... show more

I was a little concerned about making this purchase with some of the mixed reviews. I saw on another shopping site had great reviews so decided to give it a shot. It took me 30 mins to put together and was not that challenging. There was not a scratch on it. I love the look and feel. It is almost exactly as pictured. I have no idea what some reviews are talking about with the wheels. They are normal desk chair wheels. People will complain about anything, lol.     • Assembly a real headache; color is off

I love the chair now that it's finally put together, even if the color is more like an eggplant shade of purple than burgundy. The screws arrive already in the holes and you have to remove them to assemble the chair...shouldn't be too tough except it took a power drill with a screwdriver bit to undo most of them. They were in way to hard to unscrew manually. Also, it's somewhat awkward and while I guess it could be done by one person, it really helped to have another one there to help balance the back to the seat, push in on the arms, etc. Oh, and one of the arm holes was slanted which made lining it up harder. However, now that it's assembled, it is comfortable to sit in; the arms slide just under the table so it can be "tucked away"; it glide around easily on my area rug that is over our kitchen linoleum. I would have rated it a 5 star except for the assembly problems and the color. Since we just put it together last night, I'm hoping to not have issues with it. If so, I'll file an amended review. ... show more

We saw this chair at a furniture store and loved it. At over $400 it was just too much. I researched online and found the exact same chair at 1/2 the price. We love the chair. It did come a little bit scratched up, but easily fixed with a stain pen.
