    • 4 stars for the first two years, 1 star after! Replace the cylinder and the supplied hardware!
This chair was pretty good for the first two years I've had it (purchased July 2017, this review is June 2020). That being said, I did *immediately* put in a heavy duty cylinder (ASIN B00CKRBJTW - $40 at the time, currently they are $25 each) instead of using the supplied one. I've ranged between 380 and 485lbs during that time (up and down) due to a foot injury, but anyhow, it has supported me well the entire time. It still does not lose height and adjusts just perfectly.. Unfortunately other parts of the chair started failing about 4 months ago. One day in January, I leaned back as I normally do on a phone call, and heard a loud POP. I thought the chair broke in half it was so loud, but it was one of the bolts snapping in half (as another person has said happened to him). Around 2 weeks later, another loud pop and the other bolt near the back of the seat popped, I fell backwards and the back of the seat was on the floor. Thankfully I caught myself before falling out of the chair as the flat metal bracket would have ended up directly in the middle of my ribs!! So, if I were to buy this chair again, I would replace the supplied immediately hardware with good quality grade 8 bolts as the other reviewer did. I ordered replacement bolts from McMaster-Carr. The size you want is 3/8"-16 Thread Size, 2" Long. PN 92316A632 The other thing that has failed around the same time is the seat cushioning. While it was great the first two years or so, it is now completely flat when you sit down, and I either have tailbone pain after about an hour, or if I put an aftermarket cushion on the chair (which 99% of them suck BTW) after that hour or so, I end up with fluid pooling in my feet and lower legs due to the circulation being cut off because the seat cushions do not fill the entire seat pad, so depending where I put the cushion, I end up with either two pinch points (front behind knees and back in front of tail-bone or two in the front where the cushion ends, then a gap to the front of the chair and another on the front edge of the chair cushion since my legs are now angled and there is a height difference). I've been shopping for a new chair recently and I'm tempted to buy another one of these and get two good years out of it, as most of the other chairs either have similar problems or seem to be just complete crap (and TBH, even some of the reviews on this one say they are crap as well). Fortunately the unit I received did not have any welding or manufacturing issues other than the backrest adjustment has never worked, it just instantly falls down to the lowest position as soon as you lean forward. ... show more

    • The seatback fabric came loose from one side. I tried to put it back in but it will not stay.
I have one other of these chairs which has served me well. This new one within a month of receiving it the fabric on the seat back dislodged from the track that holds it tight. Making the fabric loose. I tried to reset it but it would not hold. So not such a good outcome for me.

    • pedestal/shock failed in under a year...... was nice while it lasted, but that wasn't long enough
So I edited this review from a one star review. I'm giving it 4 now because of the issue. Here is my original review. "First let me say, initially I loved this chair. I bought two big/tall chairs at the same time. One leather high back and this one. This was my favorite of the two; much better for desk work at a computer. The other was cozy but not conducive to work. So why a one star review. Well, in under a year, I am now sitting about a foot off the floor. The pedestal/shock failed. This chair is said to be rated at 400lbs but I am only 310lbs and it didn't make a year. Though I love the chair I cant condone more than one star for something that cost this much but failed in under a year and needs to be replaced." Now, Why I'm changing my review. Contacted Flash Furniture and the chair was still under warranty and they were more than helpful and easy to deal with. Replacement cylinder on its way. Stoked. So rare people stand behind a product and have good customer service. Kudos to them. ... show more

    • Very comfortable chair
This is a very comfortable chair for the most part. It also seems to be holding up really well. The only flaw is that the chair tends to raise on its own. Since I am a short person, this doesn’t work for me. I don’t have full use of my right arm, and the adjustment cannot be operated unless someone is sitting in the chair, so I am perched on the edge of the seat until I can recruit someone to adjust my chair for me. ... show more

    • not bad, but back keeps falling apart
I am a big guy. Finding a chair that is able to hold me up and not fall apart is very difficult. I also had racer chairs because when I am at my computer I am not, in fact, in a car. So I bought this one. First sit was great. Felt stable and big enough for all the working from home I was going to do. Then a week later the back mesh separated from the plastic frame. Well, ok just shove it back in and go about my day. A week later it happened on the other side. Huh. It keeps on happening! Now I don't think it is dangerous or that I will fall back through the frame because of the lumbar support. It is just very annoying. To that with a gas cylinder that needs to be readjusted...     • Wheels are not well
The chair itself is nice i've have owned it for 3 years well worth the cash. But I would suggest to buy some different wheels if you plan on using on carpet. I bought this because i'm a big guy like most people who may buy this chair. I know they put cheap wheels on all chairs make and models so its not that big of a surprise that I suggest a little more of a investment in better wheels. Especially if your a larger weight like what this chair is made for. But all said and done best office chair I've had in years. ... show more

    • Uncomfortable
Received the chair in good time and it was easy to put together. As soon as I sat, the seat felt unlevel like it was tipping to the right. No matter how I swiveled it wouldn't correct. I sit in an office chair all day and at the end of the day I was sore. On top of that, the description when I bought the chair, was that it was for big and tall, rated for 400# plus. I'm not that big. When reading the warranty that came with the chair, it said it was only warrantied for 250# or less for no more than 40 hours a week. I may just send it back. ... show more

    • Horrible customer service
The seat is comfy and it goes very high for long legs. The back goes up for taller lumbar support, but does not stay there. Called customer service, told me would escalate it to tech support, had to call a 2nd time, got a call back, then called a 3rd time, and nothing. If it had not been over the time to return, I would. Would have given 5 stars, except for the back slipping and no one calling back from customer support. ... show more
