The only reason for the 4 star review as opposed to 5 is because of the color. These stools are definitely more rust than red. That is not a bad thing, but they are just more "neutral" than I wanted, and if you're looking for a bold blast of color, these will not do it for you unless your island/bar has a very light-colored base, like white, cream, or light gray. Mine is natural cherry and the stools sort of "blend" in. Having said that, in all other respects they exceed expectations, especially when you consider the price. They look very nice, are quite sturdy, with no bends, scratches or visible flaws. They're lightweight enough to move around easily but there's plenty of heft to them. The distressing is nicely done. The paint quality looks really good--almost like powder-coating. Because they are matte finish--no gloss--they are comfortable; your butt doesn't slide around on them. And they look classier than the high-gloss, shiny versions of the same stool. Nothing cheap or chintzy about them. I would consider sending them back and getting green instead, except the green shown looks CRAZY bright, almost neon. Will likely keep these; just got them today. ... show more

The stool came put together. Thank you to the company. It is very sturdy and has a hand hold on the top of the seat, so it's easy to move. It enables me to do my dishes and prepare meals at the counter. Those are things I have not been able to do easily without the stool. I like having the independence. I plan to use it in my art room because my current canvas is really large and it's hard to reached the top from a seated position.
