The vacuum arrived and I tried it out. We have 100 year old wood floors and flat woven wool mats with fringe and an 18 plus cat with a dandruff issue. I was worried that the suction would be too much for the rugs or damage the rugs but it glides over them just fine. If I accidentally hit the fringe it’s not a big deal. My old vacuum would eat holes in the rugs. My favorite thing about this vacuum is it is powerful but it doesn’t kick dust up into the air! With my old vacuum I had to take a shower after I vacuumed because my clothes and face and hair would be covered in dust and the house felt dirtier than when I began. I feel like this vacuum does not kick up dust but rather captures it. The tank is pretty small so I have to dump it frequently. It’s kind of annoying because you have to take the stick off and I don’t want to lean it against the wall and scratch my walls and a lot of time it slides off the wall. It would be nice if there was some sort of “grippy” material at the top of the stick to stop it from sliding down the wall. Dyson folks if you appreciate this feedback please pay for my vacuum! You have to set the stick somewhere because emptying the canister is a two hand job. You need one hand to hold the canister and one hand to push the slider forward. Holding the trigger down to run the vacuum also makes my hand tired so I’ll probably rig a small bungee cord or something to hold it down. All and all I’m really happy with this vacuum and I think it will improve the overall air quality of our home. It picks up cat fur without clogging the head of the vacuum, it doesn’t ... show more

The vacuum is advertised as Pet grade yet I cannot get through 2 full rooms before it wants me to dump the cylinder and I only have 2 short hair cats. I also cannot get through the more that 1200 sqft before the battery dies, on the lower of the two settings. If I use the power boost it does not last more than 10 minutes. Very disappointed in this product. Additionally there is no easy or efficient way to use it for furniture or carpeted steps. I had a Pet grade upright cylinder vacuum for 12 years and loved it but this product does not live up to the Dyson quality I found in my old one. ... show more

I was apprehensive at first buying such a pricey vacuum. I know the brand is good, but the price is high. I go through vacuums like crazy & they always seem to break on me or only last a year or two & I’m buying another one But took a chance & purchased this. Wow! This is the best Vacuum I’ve ever used! So incredibly light & easy to carry up the stairs. It cleans so well, easy to empty the canister. It’s quiet & so easy to push around on carpet then to hardwood floors It’s worth the price & has a great warranty. Which I did right away! I bought this to use only in my motorhome and camper, but now I use it EVERYWHERE! I love it! It is so easy to use and convenient. My only complaint is that it loses its charge relatively quickly so I can’t use it on big jobs.
