I like the extra protection of the far thumb joint. The flaw is the point where the stitched portion leaves the protective inner layer and contacts skin. The stitches irritate the place. I have introduced a glasses cleaning cloth for extra protection there.

This thumb brace was pretty comfortable with one caveat, the thumb brace part itself is not adjustable so I couldn't position my thumb in a manner that relieved the pain for it. If I wanted my thumb to be out a bit further maybe this would be more comfortable. The materials were cushy and comfortable and breathed well. That is why it gets a 4 for comfort. ... show more

This thumb brace kept me from moving my thumb too much in the wrong direction. This brace fit easily around my wrist and kept my thumb rigid. It did not go far enough down my wrist for me to feel a lot of support at the wrist but I got this primarily for my thumb and it did work well for that.     • Great for my thumb instability

The support, in my opinion, is great for what it is designed to do. My use case: Four years ago I tore a ligament in the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint in my right thumb. It has been unstable and prone to dislocating ever since. Lately three things happened that made me feel old... 1. I am unable to open a tight jar due to the pain in the MCP joint 2. I am unable to hold my open laptop in one hand because the MCP joint gives out. 3. I can't stick my thumb down my sock or shoe while putting them on anymore because it causes my thumb to dislocate. I was relieved to find that this brace does provide a me with a great deal of support for the general category of the types of tasks I listed above. I don't plan to use it for precision work or anything involving moisture or chemicals because the support would get in the way of those activities. However, this limitation has to do with the physics of the injury and not about the quality of the support piece. Considering that the brace has improved my ability to open jars, carry things, and put on socks, I'm giving it 5 stars. ... show more

This thumb brace comes in a brown cardboard box with information printed on it. On the front of the box: "Fitomo Thumb Brace". On the back: "Live green, love green, think green. 100% recyclable packaging."; 3 company addresses, in Germany, China, & England; model number "SKPW5"; and a Fitomo company email address. An instructions booklet is provided, with diagrams and text in 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, and Italian. The instructions say to hand-wash the brace. It only took the wearer about 2 minutes to figure out how to put it on the first time. It is much easier to put on than another thumb brace they'd tried before; the second piece of velcro to adjust the thumb helps. We also like that it uses the nicer type of velcro which is unlikely to catch on other fabrics. The wearer measured their wrist according to the size chart provided in one of the official product images, and the Medium size selected according to that chart did fit properly. The brace is effective enough at immobilization that you can't use that thumb to do anything while wearing the brace. ... show more

I admit: I'm on my phone too much. It is a problem that isn't without its dangers. For example, my thumbs are often sore. For me, it's mostly a problem in the knuckle, so a lot of thumb braces aren't long enough to do much except make it worse. This one is the perfect size, and it fits securely. I wish it were a little longer down my wrist to help with my carpal tunnel syndrome too, but that's not the fault of this brace; it does everything it claims to do! ... show more

Fitomo 2 in 1 Wrist and Thumb Brace. This wrist band is perfect for me, it holds my thumb and wrist giving them a very nice support. I have Carpal Tunnel on my left hand and this wrist band is the best from all others I have. It helps me keep my thumb secure and the pain under control. This wrist band also is not bulky. The material is strong. As for the price, I think it is a little expensive but when you need relieve for your pain I guess it is a good investment. I highly recommend it. ... show more

I started wearing this at night to brace my right thumb. I was having some pain in the mornings but this seems to help a lot. It's quite easy to put on each night and I only have to fasten one piece of velcro to keep it securely anchored to my wrist. You could pretty easily wear this during the day but the immobilization of your thumb does make it difficult to do things like open doors or carry objects.
