I am a fire service professional, and I can tell you this safe is not fireproof. The metal is not a heavy enough gauge nor is there any kind of insulation to prevent heat transfer. Disappointed. I suggest you go to a locksmith for a decent safe if you want to protect your valuables from fire. I'll use this to keep certain things out of the reach of children, but I will not put valuables in this.

Got this safe to store important documents in a secure way. It’s black and blends in nicely in my room. The size is great and it fits important documents like birth certificates, marriage license etc. I also like the idea of extra keys. Comes with two keys to set it up before you add batteries and set the lock. Very easy to do. Add batteries (4 double A) and then it’s a simple process to set the keypad. Open the safe and the reset key is on the inside of the door by the hinges. It’s red but you’ll find it. Overall a nice safe.

We bought this box because it claimed to be fireproof, but we are seriously doubting that it is. It’s pretty thin metal, the door doesn’t close well, and there are holes (bottom and back) drilled in it for mounting so that when we mount it to the wall there are open holes on the bottom. It does come with a fireproof document bag that I’m hoping will be an adequate back up to the box if there is ever a fire. Also, there is enough space around the door for someone to possibly wedge a crowbar into it. Disappointed, but not worth returning. I’ll make the best of it.

It’s very solid, triple bolt locks. Keys when needed or a push button number combination of our choosing. It’s bolted securely to the floor and the back of closet. We love everything about it.

My teenage son steals my mountain dew all the time and denies it but I always end up finishing a case faster each time. He will no longer continue with this tomfoolery thanks to this safe. A+ because this thing can hold more than a 24 pack of mountain dew.
