Totally surprised — very very good — actually excellent Packaging was impressive - the safe is very heavy duty I found it easy to program and use I recommend using a finger and a thumb and save multiple angles for each - opens every time Code and keys no problem at all — Fits full sized 1911’s and M&P The power cord is only a power cord it does not have built in batteries to charge But the 4 AAA batteries work fine not sure how long they will last but minimal power draw Installation is extremely easy and very secure I am very happy with this slider safe and will buy another

This safe is exactly as the description states. It is simple to mount. The fingerprint reader works without any trouble. It's a little noisy, especially when it hits the stop, so practice opening it while holding the drawer so it opens slowly & without hitting the stop. Set up was very simple, except for muting the sound. Customer service set me straight on the mute function: hold the number 1 on the keypad until the light flashes, that simple. Customer service was very patient with me, thank you! It's exactly what I wanted & mounted hidden to the back of my bedside cabinet.

The fingerprint sensor almost never works on first attempt, but usually works after the second or third try. I wouldn't rely on the sensor for any real-life quick access, but the combination opens quickly enough. The metal is tough as all and I'm very pleased with that. I'd highly recommend for traditional gun owners, but for the quickest-to-access, always-be-ready folks, they'll be sorely displeased and should look elsewhere.

Horrible it doesn’t open when I need it to with the fingerprint or with the code. This POS safe could cost my family it’s life if somebody broke into my house and I couldn’t get to my firearm. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

It's pretty important to be able to get to the gun when you need it, but this safe has failed me 2 times so far. Both times I needed to be prepared, the fingerprint reader did not work after trying on 2 fingers and then attempting to enter the code did not work either which forced me to choose a different, less ideal gun that is in a safe that always works. I am trying to find customer service for this, but so far, am unable to reach them as little information is available on the actual firesafe company. One other issue I had with this is after fully reprogramming it after the first failure, I was able to push on the side of it and the gun popped out. After some open/reclose, I was unable to repeat this but that was very worrisome. Ultimately the poor reliability of this will likely have me replace it with a better manufacturer unless I am able to reach their customer service for a replacement. Update: I was able to reach the support team and so far they only asked for a video showing the failures, which I sent to them immediately as the problem is easy to reproduce (it really no longer even works, but acts like it is learning codes and fingerprints). However, it has now been over a week and they are not responding. I'm really hoping they choose to stand behind their product and correct this. I'll send an update after they respond to my follow-up request I sent today to learn what they have discovered or why they are not responding. Update 2: Firegear did reach out after a second request and ended up standing behind the product and refunding for the failed device. I will continue to consider their products in the future, but will give them some time first to work out a good solution to the problem I had encountered.
