I have bought so many different kinds of fire starters over the years for my fireplace. Most of them were costly or smelled of chemicals. So when I was shopping for something different, these really caught my eye. You can cook with them because there’s no chemicals which can invade the food. Last winter we were without electricity for several days due to inclement weather. Since my home is all electric ( except my fireplace), we were in real trouble. These are easy to light natural seasoned wood. Use 1 or 2 depending on the log & they burn for about 8-10 minutes. There is no odor. They are safe, natural, & reasonably priced.

We are using these to light our fireplace. Just add some kindling and we are just using 2 of these to get the fire going! These are awesome! They burn for quite awhile.

When we make campfires, we often use the waxy fire starters that say 'don't use with cooking food'. These all natural sticks don't have that chemical scent and do a nice job of starting the fire in place of kindling. They don't burn as long as the waxy ones, but if you throw several of these in the bottom, they get a nice flame started.
