I love this thing. It heats water quickly, lights reliably and is eerily fuel efficient. The handle and lid work well and with the plastic base it's quite stable, despite being so tall. I appreciate that I do not need to baby it in wind and rain the way one does with more bare-bones arrangements. One minor nit is that, beause I keep the stabilizer on top of the stove to protect the igniter in the pot, but that does mean the gas either has to sit on the outside or the lid doesn't quite fit over the whole thing. In practice it doesn't really change my packing - it all fits in my pack, and the wider pot means you can cook things in it if you don't mind doing dishes. It's fast and painless enough to allow a quick cup of tea during a cold hike. I haven't really done much with the little pan holder - I'm not usually that interested in doing complex cookery at the end of a backpacking day, but it's an option if you're feeling inspired. I will say the outfit is more focused on boiling water/wet cooking than even heat distribution for frying. My buddy was a bit scornful when he first saw it. Now he wants to borrow it all the time!

Absolutely love this thing. It's perfect for making lunch on a long hike. Water boiled super fast. My only issue is that it does not fit the burner, propane stand, propane and other accessories in the pot as stated. I purchased a small 100g propane can. However the other items fit in the bag that is provided. Fire-Maple has some other cool products that I cant wait to try.

*** 1 1/2 YEAR UPDATE *** OK, so it's been 18 months and I still love it! I mostly use it for coffee and it does an excellent job heating water fast! I've used this on kayak trips, hunting trips and camping while doing some fence work. Nothing has broken on it and it still performs like the day I bought it. I've used it mostly between 5000 - 6800 feet elevation. In the snow, the fuel seems to slow down but still works great. The cooking set I've been using is this Stanly set - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSDVPWV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The frying pan has a pretty thick bottom and does the job for me. I hope this helps someone decide to purchase or not. The locking handle is really great, the fabric handle the other brands use have no support. (Original review below) I took this on a 3 day kayak camping trip and it was the best thing ever! My buddy had the name brand one which cost twice as much, and his didn't have all the nice features of this Fire Maple. The Fire Maple performed just as good as the one he had. I made eggs, Bacon, steak and coffee and it's now going with me on all my trips. I really like it. I would suggest using a good thick bottomed pan since the heat is directed to a small area and you will burn food fast on a thin pan. I used one from a Stanley kit. Cast iron would be good but not practical for my water sports. If I could swap this out with the name brand one that's twice as much, I'd keep this Fire Maple. It performs great and I love the locking lid and rigid handle. If you're on the fence, buy it, you will love it. If not, Amazon has great customer service on returns.

I have had a lot of backpacking stoves over the years and while this system might not be the most fuel efficient system I have ever used its by far the most well thought out! The design is amazing and fits everything you need including your fuel inside the cook pot so you save space in the pack. You can use it with the pot provided or you can use the system as a stand alone and use any pot, pan, or otherwise and it so works wonderfully! It's hot a large base so it's very durable and stable when using! Another bonus is you can heat up enough water in one go for two "mountain house" style meals, which means my wife doesn't need to pack a stove at all which is awesome because it saves her pack weight! If you're an ultralight kinda person it's fairly large and kinda heavy, but if you are a normal backpacker and you want a quality way to consistently heat up quite a bit of water this is for sure the way to go!!! Also for the price you really can't beat it!!! I will be buying more from these guys in the future!!!!!

I bought this to take to the field (I’m an Army Medic) so I can have my coffee in the morning. Everything about it is great. I love how everything stores up nicely. I have a micro stove but I wanted something that is a complete kit. Would like a smaller kit but you get what you get. It does heat quickly and everything works like it should. Only gripes I have is the color choices. Would have loved some military colors like black, tan, Coyote or foliage green.

The last time we went backpacking, I was less than impressed with our kitchen setup. I wanted something simple that could handle the cooking needs of 2 people without taking up to much space and could boil water quickly. I think this is perfect. The pot is plenty big for heating up chili or something similar for 2. It is not to deep, so it is easy to use. I preferred this size over the full 1 L, since it will hold 1 L if you fill it slightly below the top. .8 L still leaves about an 1 inch of room from the top. In the home environment it boiled .4L of water in 90 seconds and .8L in less than 3 minutes. Impressive. On a cold camping morning it may take longer, but that is fine. The accessory pot stand is very stable for using a small fry pan. This is the perfect setup I have been looking for and the price was right.

I bought two of these and I was not disappointed. We have used them while camping at deer camp and at home playing with them just trying them out. I love the way they lock together all nice and neat. Heat up water for food really fast. I bought the 3 it is a little bit bigger, and heavier but that doesn’t bother me. Have cooked noodles and fried steak in them, and it worked out great. Good product. You will have to buy an adapter so the burner will fit on the larger propane cylinders. But the price is so worth it. Top end stove with an affordable price.
